Grimm, Elvington, and Baysden champions at 17th Peggy Kirk Bell Junior

Southern Pines, N.C. (Jan 2, 2026) — With the excitement ramping up for one of our biggest events of the year, players from as far as California and Canada were looking forward to the start of the 17th annual Peggy Kirk Bell Junior. Because of the size of this event, play was split between two courses, with the Bell National and Prep Preview divisions playing at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club and the Futures National division playing at the Southern Pines Golf Club.

Making seven birdies between both rounds, Riley Grimm (Pinehurst, N.C. 2028) ended the weekend as the champion of the Bell National division with a two-day score of 73-74 — 147 (+3). With three birdies made during the first round alone, Ashley Lee (Pinehurst, N.C. 2028) finished in second place with a total of 74-78 — 152 (+8). 

With 26 holes of par or better, Kennedy Gallentine (Iron Station, N.C. 2029) ended the tournament in third with a two-day total of 78-76 — 154 (+10). Making four birdies between both rounds, Koiki Miyagi (Johns Creek, Ga. 2030) finished the weekend in fourth place with a two-day score of 77-78 — 155 (+11).

With 10 straight holes of par or better made during the second round, Hadley Kate Elvington (Leland, N.C. 2031) claimed the first place trophy in the Prep Preview division, ending the weekend with a two-day score of 79-75 — 154 (+10). In a tie for second, Andrea Seale (Frederick, Md. 2030) and Natalie Hennessey (Charlotte, N.C. 2030) concluded the weekend with a total of 159 (+15), with Seale making daily scores of 78-81 and Hennessey making 73-86.

Shooting 162 (+18) for the two rounds, three players ended the tournament tied for fourth place. Sadie Muns (Martinez, Ga. 2031) finished the weekend with scores of 83-79, while both Nealy Pretulak (Duncan, S.C. 2030) and Olivia Rhee (New York, N.Y. 2030) shot rounds of 78-84.

Over at Southern Pines Golf Club, Daytona Baysden (Jacksonville, N.C. 2029) clinched first in the Futures National division with a par on the final hole, ending the tournament with a two-day score of 78-78 — 156 (+12). Ending the first round by making an impressive ten pars in a row, Addie Lupton (Tega Cay, S.C. 2031) finished in second with a total of 77-80 — 157 (+13).

With three birdies made over both rounds, Emma Bulman (Spartanburg, S.C. 2031) placed third, ending the weekend with a consistent two-day score of 80-80 — 160 (+16). Making five birdies during the second round alone, Natalie Druffel (Quincy, Ill. 2028) concluded the tournament in fourth place, with a score of 86-75 — 161 (+17).
