Southern Pines, N.C. — Following the conclusion of the second round of play at the PKBGT Tour Championship at Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club, the 36-hole cut for the Bell National division has been posted. While, players in the Prep Preview and Futures National divisions prepare for their second and final round after their scheduled first rounds on Friday, Aug. 9, were cancelled due to weather and course conditions.
The Bell National division continues to compete for the glory of first place, with a current three-way tie for first heading into the final round. Both Abigail Avallone (Bethesda, Md. 2026) and Maria Isabella Errichetto (Southern Pines, N.C. 2027) jumped from their positions as tied for sixth after the first round with their scores of 68 (-4) today. Ira Joshi (Pinehurst, N.C. 2029) continues to keep a grasp on first, though, with a score of 72 (E) today, making only pars on her entire back nine. Riley Grimm (Pinehurst, N.C. 2028) claimed fourth after the round with today’s total of 70 (-2), shooting par or better on her entire front nine. Emerson B. Dever (Durham, N.C. 2025) sits in fifth after today’s round, adding to her birdie total of now five.
Following the first round of play for the Prep Preview division, Madison Park (Charlotte, N.C. 2026) kicked things off explosively, claiming first with a score of 69 (-3) and leads by four strokes. Katie Lee (McLean, Va. 2026) holds second after making par or better on 15 of 18 holes. In a tie for third, Baker Hudson (New Bern, N.C. 2026) ended the round by playing her back nine in one-under, while Julianna Ishii (Cockeysville, Md. 2027) matched Lee in shooting par or better for 15 of 18 holes. In fifth, Paisley Freda (Cornelius, N.C. 2026) ended the round with a score of 75 (+3), impressively making four birdies today.
Similar to the Prep Preview division, the Futures National division began tournament play today, where Madison Cameron (Arlington, Va. 2025) holds the overnight lead after her round of 73 (+1) playing in her first Tour Championship. Ending the round with back-to-back birdies, Tsai Yan Chiang (Holmdel, N.J. 2029) moved into solo second at the midway point. Another player competing in her first Tour Championship, Makenzie Aaron (Browns Summit, N.C. 2029) is tied for third at 75 (+3) with Arley Jennings (Spartanburg, S.C. 2030), who made five birdies during her round. Madison Woodrum (Statesboro, Ga. 2029) holds fifth after the first round, shooting 76 (+4) with only pars on her entire back nine.
Order of Merit Update
The Tour Championship will bring a close to the season-long Order of Merit Points race! The top three players ranked in each division beginning the week are at Pine Needles hoping to claim the trophy. If the tournament were to end today, Riley Grimm would claim the Bell National Order of Merit while Mallory Pitts would take home the Prep Preview title. Makenzie Aaron would win the Futures National division. There’s still 18 holes to play, however, and we are set for a dramatic finish to the 2024 season!

In the Bell National Series:
- Riley Grimm wins if she finishes tied for 2nd or better OR Macie Rasmussne does not win Tour Championship.
In the Prep Preview Series,
- Adelyn Rosado entered the Tour Championship as the leader and can win the OOM earning no more than 10.25 less points than Mallory Pitts at the Tour Championship.
- Mallory Pitts must beat Rosado by 10.5 points in the Tour Championship (3 full places).
- Lauren Davis must win the Tour Championship and non-Top 5 finishes from Rosado & Pitts to win the OOM.
In the Futures National Series,
- Arley Jennngs wins by winning Tour Championship AND Mackenzie Aaron not finishing solo 2nd.
- Mackenzie Aaron, Ella Spence, Ryland Portadin and Madison Woodrum win the OOM with a Tour Championship victory.
- Mackenzie Aaron can win earning no more than 8.5 points less than Ella Spence, 14.5 points less than Ryland Portadin, 19 points less than Madison Woodrum and 25 points less than Arley Jennings.
- Ella Spence can win beating Mackenzie Aaron by 8.75 points and earning no less than 6.25 points from Ryland Portadin, 10.75 points less than Madison Woodrum and 16.25 less than Arley Jennings.
- Ryland Portadin can win by beating Mackenzie Aaron by 15 points, Ella Spence bu 6 points and earning no less than 4.5 points less than Madison Woodrum and 10.5 points less than Arley Jennings.
- Madison Woodrum wins by winning Tour Championship
- Arley Jennngs wins by winning Tour Championship AND Mackenzie Aaron not finishing solo 2nd.

About the PKBGT
Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina. The tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace.
