On Sunday, May 27, the 2012 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the final round of the PKBGT OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS @ CC of Salisbury. CC of Salisbury proved a challenging course for this three day event for the Bell Division. The event features a field of 60 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members and 94 alumni in the collegiate ranks.
Jessica Porvasnik (Hinckley, OH 2013) wins PKBGT OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS @ CC of Salisbury and is second player to be named golden in 2012!
In the Bell Division, Porvarsnik carded two over par with a score of 73 to place first with 67 + 75 + 73 = 215. Ashlii Thompson (Browns Summit, NC 2013) carded six over par with a score of 77 to place second with 72 + 70 + 77 = 219. Cecily Overbey (High Point, NC 2014) carded three over par with a score of 74 to place third with 72 + 74 + 74 = 220.
PKBGT returns to action in two weeks with the One-Day Open Series on Saturday, June 9 at Country Club of Petersburg in Petersburg, VA. This is the second one-day open series of the 2012 season.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
