The 2012 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour tees off Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15 at the PKBGT MASTERS @ Salem Glen Golf & CC. Salem Glen Golf & CC is a challenging course for this two day event. The event features a field of 85 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members and 94 alumni in the collegiate ranks.
The Bell Division field features 57 players highlighted by eight of the top 10 players on the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Sarah Bae (Raleigh, NC 2013) tied for 5th position, Cecily Overbey (High Point, NC 2014) tied for 5th position, Lucia Polo (Greensboro, NC 2013) in 7th position, and Emily Brooks (Chapel Hill, NC 2012) in 9th position. Four of the seven event champions from this season will be playing at the PKBGT MASTERS, including: PKB Foundation Classic @ Pine Needles winner and 4th position on the Order of Merit list, Madison Moosa (Charlotte, NC 2017), Wolfpack Classic @ @ Lonnie Poole GC at NC State winner and 1st position on the Order of Merit list, Lyberty Anderson (Chesterfield, VA 2014), SC University Classic @ The Walker Course at Clemson winner and 8th position on the Order of Merit list, Eden Howard (Lamar, SC 2014), and Richmond Classic @ Hunting Hawk GC winner and 2nd position on the Order of Merit list, Shannon Brooks (Vienna, VA 2015).
The Futures Division field features 28 players highlighted by eight of the top 10 players of the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Emilia Migliaccio (Cary, NC 2017) in 3rd position, Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018) in 4th position, Jennifer Chang (Cary, NC 2018) in 7th position, Kate Harper (Isle of Palms, SC 2016) tied for 8th position, and Elizabeth Rand (Asheville, NC 2013) tied for 8th position. Three of the seven event champions from this season will be playing at the PKBGT MASTERS, including: PKB Foundation Classic @ Pine Needles and NC University Classic @ UNC Chapel Hill Finley GC winner and 1st position on the Order of Merit list, Gina Kim (Chapel Hill, NC 2015), Palmetto Classic @ USC Cobblestone Park GC winner and 2nd position on the Order of Merit list, Kristin Hearp (Salem, VA 2016), and Richmond Classic @ Hunting Hawk GC winner and 5th position on the Order of Merit list, Naomi Mitchell (Norfolk, VA 2018).
The PKBGT MASTERS is the first major of the year, bringing together the top players in the Southeast & Mid-Atlantic. It should be an exciting & challenging event. Who will be golden?
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
