One-Day Open Series @ Rock Barn Event Preview

The 2012 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour tees off Monday, July 16 at the One-Day Open Series @ Rock Barn Golf & Spa (Jackson). Rock Barn Golf & Spa (Jackson) is a challenging course for this one-day event. The event features a field of 32 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members and 94 alumni in the collegiate ranks.

The Bell Division field features 12 golfers, highlighted some of the top players on the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Abbey Hartsell (Hickory, NC 2015) in 43rd position and Alexis Kershaw (Winston-Salem, NC 2014) in 61st position. There are several new players to the tour this season, including: Anna and Erica Gallerani (Greensboro, NC 2013).

The Futures Division field features 20 golfers, highlighted by BLANK of the top BLANK players on the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Grace Massengill (Hickory, NC 2016) in 9th position, Moon Cheong (Charlotte, NC 2017) in 22nd position, Brittany Smith (Stanley, NC 2013) in 41st position, Tessa Young (Cornelius, NC 2014) in 43rd position, and Abby Cathcart (Mooresville, NC 2013) in 45th position. There are several new players to the tour this season, including: Abigail Hines (Mocksville, NC 2017), Bailey Jones (Davidson, NC 2014), Taylor Scovel (Charlotte, NC 2015), and Evelyn Stein (Statesville, NC 2013).

The One-Day Open Series @ Rock Barn Golf & Spa (Jackson) is the sixth one-day event of the season, bringing together the top players from the Carolinas and Virginia. It should be an exciting & challenging event.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
