Everything to Know About the Regional Tournament of Champions

Greensboro, N.C. (Feb. 4, 2026) — As we await the start of spring and the beginning of a new Regional Series season, we’re also looking ahead to a top prize for the top performers of this year’s Regional Series: the Regional Tournament of Champions.

What is the Regional Tournament of Champions?

Hosted at the world-class Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort in Hilton Head Island, S.C., for the last six years, the PKBGT’s Regional Tournament of Champions allows participants the chance to become the champion of Regional champions.

The Arthur Hills course at Palmetto Dunes blends the topographical beauty of the Lowcountry with the inherent challenges of the game to produce a unique golfing experience for players.

Participants of this 36-hole event get an exciting and new tournament gift each year as part of their entry fee, like last year’s handwarmer belts or blankets, umbrellas, and clothing items in years’ past.

Players who qualify will participate in either the Prep Preview or Futures National divisions, based on their PKBGT Classification. If a Discovery division champion has not yet met the PKBGT National age requirement, they will be given a special exemption into the Futures National field for this event. Priority Based Entry will be used to determine admittance into the Prep Preview field.

How can I qualify?

There are four classifications for entry into the Regional Tournament of Champions. The first is Group A Status: players who win a 2026 PKBGT Regional Series event. The second, Group B Status, includes players who win a PKBGT Regional Order of Merit Points Standings race. Players in both Groups A and B automatically earn a spot into the field and must register by the commitment deadline to claim their spot.

Players in the following Groups C and D will become eligible in respective order after this date, and players in Groups C and D are not guaranteed a spot in the Regional Tournament of Champions field. Priority Based Entry will be used for Groups C and D, should each group be invited into the field.

Players that place second in the Prep division at a 2026 PKBGT Regional Series event will earn a spot on the Group C waitlist. Players that place second in the Futures division at a 2026 PKBGT Regional Series event will earn a spot on the Group D waitlist.

About the PKBGT

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina. The tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focuses on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2025-2026 season will feature over 110 tournaments in 9 states on the East Coast, and with over 1,000 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only tour in the country.  Learn more about the PKBGT at http://www.pkbgt.org/.
