Recap: Curtis wins MAPGA Kingsmill Championship Junior Invitational

Williamsburg, Va. – For the second year in a row, Caroline Curtis has won the Kingsmill Championship Junior Invitational, this year by an incredible eight strokes.

The defending champion finished the tournament with a two-day total 1-over-143. Curtis, 15, of Richmond, Va. had five birdies on the day after a double-bogey on the first hole.
In second place on the Girls side, Naomi Mitchell shot a tournament-low 69 to finish with a 151 overall.

On September 24, 2016 the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played Middle Atlantic One-Day Series event at Regency at Dominion Valley in Haymarket, VA. This executive course, designed by Arnold Palmer, tests you on every shot with hazards, bunkers, and small greens; par for the day was 62.

Preview: One-Day Series @ Pinehurst No. 9

On Saturday, May 21st the PKBGT is set to play the second North Carolina One-Day Series event at Pinehurst No. 9.  The course, designed by Jack Nicklaus in 1988, was the latest course added to Pinehurst Resort.  The course was known as National Golf Club before it was taken over by the resort in 2014.  Players from three states, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia will tee it up in the Sandhills!

On Saturday-Sunday, May 14th – 15th, the PKBGT will play the Carolina’s Classic  at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, NC.  This course is known for the PGA Tour event that was held there for 30 years: the Wyndham Championship, formerly known as the Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic, and the Greater Greensboro Open (GGO).

On Sunday, April 24rd, the 2016 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played play concluded for the Commonwealth Classic at Fawn Lake Country Club. Fawn Lake, nicknamed Arnold Palmer’s “Virginia Masterpiece”, is a demanding course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field 31 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

Recap: Cahill, Pack Win at Palmetto Classic

On Saturday-Sunday, March 19-20, the PKBGT played the Palmetto Classic at Cobblestone Park Golf Club. Cobblestone Park, home of the University of South Carolina women’s golf team, was a strong test for the two-day tournament.  The event featured a field of 61 players from eight different states.

It turned out to be a great day for golf at Clemson’s University’s Walker Course.  The weather cooperated nicely and the wind died down from yesterday.  The greens proved to be tricky due to their fast pace but the girls were ready for the tough conditions!
Leading the Bell Series after round one is Woo Wade (Dunwoody, GA 2019) with a 74.  Woo had a couple of birdies early on in her round and she was able to maintain the steady play throughout the day.  Close behind Wade …

Recap: Kuehn Wins PKBGT Invitational, Round Three Canceled

Due to unfavorable weather conditions overnight and into today, the third round of the 2015 PKBGT Invitational has been canceled.  The event will go down in the books as a 36 hole tournament.  Rachel Kuehn (Asheville, NC 2019) won the event with a 36 hole total of 147.  In second place by winning a scorecard playoff was Emily Hawkins (Lexington, NC 2018) with a 150 total.  Following  Hawkins in third place was Haeley Wotnosky (Winston-Salem, NC 2018) also at 150.  In fourth place matching cards was Sarina …
