Carolina’s Classic @ Carolina Trace CC (Lake) Event Preview

The 2012 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour tees off Saturday, May 12 and Sunday, May 13 at the Carolina’s Classic @ Carolina Trace CC. Carolina Trace CC, site of the 2012 U.S. Women’s Open Qualifier, is a challenging course for this two-day event. The event features a field of 63 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members and 94 alumni in the collegiate ranks.

The Bell Division field features 26 golfers, highlighted by four of the top 10 players on the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Lucia Polo (Greensboro, NC 2013) in 1st position, Sarah Bae (Raleigh, NC 2013) in 3rd position, Emily Brooks (Chapel Hill, NC 2012) in 7th position, and Hannah Craver (Winston-Salem, NC 2013) in 9th position. There are several new players to the tour this season, including: Kennedy Bodfield (St. Catharines, ON, CA 2014), Rhea Bhatia (Wake Forest, NC 2015), and Shoomee Siranon (Sanford, NC 2015) who will be playing on her home course this weekend.

The Futures Division field features 37 golfers, highlighted by five of the top 10 players on the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Kristin Hearp (Salem, VA 2016) in 2nd position, Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018) in 5th position, Jennifer Chang (Cary, NC 2018) in 6th position, Katie Turk (Blacksburg, VA 2015) in 7th position, and Anna Maria McDonald (Hickory, NC 2019) in 8th position.

The Carolina’s Classic @ Carolina Trace CC brings together the top players from the Carolinas, Virginia, Maryland, and one player is even travelling from Canada for the tournament! It should be an exciting & challenging event.
