Williamsburg, Va. — The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour headed north to Ford’s Colony Country Club for the 2024 GolfShield Girls Classic.
In the Bell National division, Alexis Danielle Goboy (Chesapeake, VA 2026) came out hot with an opening round of 71 (-1). The under par round put her ahead of Annabel Widdifield (McLean, VA 2026) by 5 shots for a comfortable lead after day one. Rose Hall (Yorktown, VA 2029) and Aurora Yoo (Fairfax, VA 2027) were the only other players to break 80 after the first 18 holes of the tournament.
2024 GolfShield Girls Classic Bell Division Medalists
Goboy came out with another solid round of 72 (E) to secure her first Bell National win. She shot eight strokes better than Aurora Yoo, who came out strong on day two with a 72 (E) to finish in second place. Widdifield shot a two day total of 154 for solo third place topping the four-way tie for fourth place of Kaylee Bell (Virginia Beach, VA 2028), Carter Bransford (Glen Allen, VA 2026), Rose Hall, and Ella Scott (Castle Rock, CO 2027).
The Futures National division was a tight race throughout all 36 holes at Ford’s Colony Country Club. Jasmine Limm (Chesterfield, VA 2029) was the leader in the clubhouse after round one. Her eagle and three birdies helped her to shoot a 73 (+1) to lead the division by three after the first 18 holes.
2024 GolfShield Girls Classic Futures National Division Medalists
The players came out hot in round two with 14 out of 26 players shooting in the 70s in the Futures National division. This made the race for the top tight with only 7 shots separating first and fifth place. Overall, Limm’s consistency topped the others with two rounds of 73 (+1) to get her her first Futures National win.
Madison Cameron (Arlington, VA 2025) had a two day total of 149 (+5) to come in second place. Elisha Yim (Clarksville, MD 2030) shot an impressive 72 in round two to secure individual third place. Bani Banwait (North Bethesda, MD 2030) and Demi Mahiai (Chesapeake, VA 2028) tied for fourth place with a 36-hole total of 153 (+9).
