Recap: Savannah Girls Classic

Savannah, GA The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour headed to Savannah, GA for the final round of the Savannah Girls Classic at Savannah Harbor Golf Club

 

Bell National

Christina Surcey (Cartersville, GA 2024) entered the day four shots behind but shot the round of the day in the Bell National division to make a move up the leaderboard. After making her birdie putt on the 18th green, Surcey walked away champion of the Savannah Girls Classic. Overnight leader Megan Kirkpatrick (Woodbine, MD 2024) struggled on Sunday following her 74 on Saturday. Kirkpatrick ended up tied for second with Hannah Barrett (Richmond Hill, GA 2023). Barrett played consistent once again on her way to earning more PKB hardware! Alana Hall (Boca Raton, FL 2024) and Lilly Hall (Yorktown, VA 2024) tied for fourth over the weekend. Both players birdied the ninth hole on Sunday to share medalist honors.

T2.  Hannah Barrett (Richmond Hill, GA 2023) / 76 + 80 = 156 (+12)

T4. Alana Hall (Boca Raton, FL 2024) / 78 + 81 = 159 (+15)

T4. Lilly Hall (Yorktown, VA 2024) / 80 + 79 = 159 (+15)

Futures National

Margaret Ulrich (Wichita, KS 2025) clung to a two stroke lead entering the final round. Ulrich birdied two holes and played her front nine in even par. From there she was able to hold onto her lead and win the tournament by three. Alexandra Kennedy (Arden, NC 2026)  impressed on Sunday bettering Ulrich’s score by one, shooting a 76 (+4). Her highlight of the round was the birdie on the par-4 twelfth but it ultimately wouldn’t be enough to come from behind and she’d settle for solo second. Maya Lilja-Vazquez (Savannah, GA 2028) came out hot on Sunday birding three holes on the front-nine. She would go onto shoot 80 (+8) and finish in third.

2. Alexandra Kennedy (Arden, NC 2026) / 81 + 76 = 157 (+13)

3. Maya Lilja-Vazquez (Savannah, GA 2028) / 81 + 80 = 161 (+17)

4. Landry Hamm (Charlotte, NC 2027) / 81 + 81 = 162 (+18)

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.  The tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace.
