Salisbury, NC – The final round of the PKB Girls Golf Tour Open at Salisbury was rained out\u00a0on Monday.<\/p>\n

Therefore,\u00a0day two leader\u00a0Sara Bae\u00a0of Cary, NC, took home the\u00a0major championship title\u00a0\u00a0by three shots.<\/p>\n

The win was the second this year for the talented girl from Cary and her second day finish of three birdies in her last five holes really sealed the tournament for her getting her to one under par\u00a0 and a\u00a0two day total of 141.<\/p>\n

“Coming down the stretch I knew it was important to stay in the moment and take one shot at a time, said Bae. When I finished with three birdies by sticking with my gameplan I was really excited!”<\/p>\n

Bae looks forward to a competitive amateur schedule this summer including the US Jr. Amatuer Championship and several other national events.<\/p>\n

Following Bae\u00a0was two time PKB order of merit champion Katherine Perry of Cary, NC. Perry finished second in the first major of the year and tied Bae for low round with a 70 of her own on day two (74-70\u2014144).<\/p>\n

Following Bae and Perry\u00a0were Kristi Ingram of Winston \u2013 Salem, NC at 4 over par (72-74\u2014146),Taylor Allison of Elizabeth City, NC at (74-75\u2014149), Katie Kirk of Davidson, NC (\u00a077-73-150) and Andrea Robbins of Liberty, NC (76-75-151).<\/p>\n

In the Futures division, Sarah Spicer of Bahama, NC and Gabrielle Chappell of Charlotte, NC competed in a rain filled head to head playoff that ended on the second hole when Chappell sunk a nice putt for par. Both girls posted scores of 80 for the event.<\/p>\n

Following the girls were Nicolette Donovan of Cary, NC at 81, and Grace Yatawara of Salisbury, NC, Isabella Rusher of Salisbury, NC and \u00a0Emily Stinson of Charlotte, NC at 82.<\/p>\n

The tours next event will be at Rock Barn Resort and Spa on Friday, June 18th.<\/p>\n
