On Saturday, August 25th, the\u00a0<\/span>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0in partnership with the <\/span>Middle Atlantic PGA<\/a> plays the \u00a0<\/span>Middle Atlantic One-Day Series<\/a>\u00a0event at <\/span>Hobbit’s Glen GC<\/a>\u00a0in Columbia, MD.<\/span><\/p>\n

The MA One-Day Series will include 8 One-Day tournaments in the Middle Atlantic region, concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression<\/a> allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage\/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.<\/p>\n

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to \u201cget in to the swing of things\u201d playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The Middle Atlantic One-Day Series event at Hobbit’s Glen GC features a field of 51 players from the PKB Girls\u2019 Golf Tour, the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour.<\/p>\n

Featured in the 14 player Prep Series are Vynie Chen (Centreville, VA 2020), Katie Park (Fairfax, VA 2022) and Sue Lee (Lorton, VA 2022). Vynie is currently ranked 2nd on the Prep MA Order of Merit and finished 1st at the MA One-Day Series at Bowling Green CC (South). Katie is currently ranked 3rd on the Prep MA Order of Merit and finished 1st at the MA One-Day Series at Crofton CC. Sue is currently ranked 4th on the Prep MA Order of Merit and finished T4 at the MA One-Day Series at Bowling Green CC (South).<\/p>\n

Featured in the 18 player Futures Series are Taylor Park (Fairfax, VA 2022), Josephine Nguyen (Springfield, VA 2024) and Emily Wang (Mclean, VA 2024). Taylor is currently ranked 1st on the Futures MA Order of Merit and finished 2nd at the MA One-Day Series at Augustine GC. Josephine is currently ranked 2nd on the Futures MA Order of Merit and finished 3rd at the MA One-Day Series at Crofton CC. Emily is currently ranked 3rd on the Futures MA Order of Merit and finished T4 at the MA One-Day Series at Shenandoah Valley GC.<\/p>\n

Featured in the 19 player Discovery Series are Cailyn Park (Fairfax, VA 2025), Madison Lehr (Mechanicsville, VA 2024) and Sydney Neou (Leesburg, VA 2027). Cailyn is currently ranked 1st on the Discovery MA Order of Merit and finished 1st at the MA One-Day Series at Crofton CC. Madison is currently ranked 2nd on the Discovery MA Order of Merit and has 2 wins with the PKB this season. Sydney is currently ranked 3rd on the Discovery MA Order of Merit and has 2 wins with the PKB this season.<\/p>\n

Everyone looks to continue their success this weekend at the Middle Atlantic One-Day Series event at Hobbit’s Glen GC! Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers in the Prep and Futures Series, and the top-3 finishers in the Discovery Series.\u00a0We look forward to a great event!<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
