On Saturday, August 11th, the\u00a0<\/span>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0in partnership with the <\/span>WSCGA Junior Golf Foundation<\/a>\u00a0played the \u00a0<\/span>South Carolina One-Day Series<\/a>\u00a0event at\u00a0<\/span>Orangeburg CC<\/a>\u00a0in Orangeburg, SC.<\/span><\/p>\n

The SC One-Day Series will include 8 One-Day tournaments in the South Carolina region,\"\"\u00a0concluding with the two-day Series Finale at The GC at Wescott Plantation, August 25-26. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression<\/a> allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage\/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.<\/p>\n

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to \u201cget in to the swing of things\u201d playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.\u00a0The South Carolina One-Day Series event at Orangeburg CC featured a field of 22 players from the PKB Girls\u2019 Golf Tour, the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Champion of the Prep Series is Lexi Bennett (Santee, SC 2021) with a score of 2-over par, 74. Lexi Lucarelli (Mount Pleasant, SC 2020) finished runner-up with a score of 80. Finishing in 3rd place with a score of 81 is Telie McCoy (Early Branch, SC 2019). Cori Langford (Blythewood, SC 2020) finished in 4th place with a score of 83.<\/p>\n

The Champion of the Futures Series is Regan Clifford (Mount Pleasant, SC 2020) with a score of 3-over par, 75. Taylor Burch (Elgin, SC 2021) finished runner-up with a score of 82. Autumn Carey (Manning, SC 2022) and Emma Curran (Greer, SC 2021) both finished the day with a score of 83. Autumn won the scorecard playoff and finished in 3rd place. Emma finished in 4th place.<\/p>\n

The PKBGT Southeast Regional Series is back in action Saturday, August 25-26 for the Southeast Series Finale at The GC at Wescott Plantation in North Charleston, SC. There is still time to register! We look forward to a great event!<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
