On Saturday, July 21st, the\u00a0<\/span>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0in partnership with the <\/span>WSCGA Junior Golf Foundation<\/a>\u00a0played the \u00a0<\/span>South Carolina One-Day Series<\/a>\u00a0event at <\/span>The Country Club Of Lexington<\/a>\u00a0in Lexington, SC.<\/span><\/p>\n

The SC One-Day Series will include 8 One-Day tournaments in the South Carolina region,\"\"concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression<\/a> allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage\/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.<\/p>\n

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to \u201cget in to the swing of things\u201d playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.<\/p>\n

The Champion of the Prep Series is Marley Barefoot (West Columbia, SC 2019) with a score of 79. Finishing runner-up with a score of 81 is Ella Kue (Kings Mountain, NC 2023). Amelia Majcina (Tega Cay, SC 2018) finished in 3rd place with a score of 86. There was a two-way tie for 4th place. Mia Settle (Simpsonville, SC 2019) and Anna Moore (Wilmington, NC 2018) both finished the day with a score of 88. Mia won the scorecard playoff and finished in 4th place.<\/p>\n

The Champion of the Futures Series is Mirabella Calabrase (Cornelius, NC 2019) with a score of 79. Finishing runner-up with a score of 83 is Hanna Webber (Jonesville, SC 2022). Izzy Stone (Beaufort, SC 2020) finished in 3rd place with a score of 84. There was a two-way tie for 4th place. Lauren Oh (Lexington, SC 2020) and Imani Belton (Columbia, SC 2020) both finished the day with a score of 87. Lauren won the scorecard playoff and placed 4th.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to all of our award winners! The PKBGT is back in action next week with the NC One-Day Series at Bryan Park GC (Players) on July 26 and the NC One-Day Series at Bermuda Run CC (West) on July 28. We look forward to great events!<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
