On Saturday, July 21st, the\u00a0<\/span>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0in partnership with the <\/span>Middle Atlantic PGA<\/a> plays the \u00a0<\/span>Middle Atlantic One-Day Series<\/a>\u00a0event at <\/span>The Hollows<\/a>\u00a0in Montpelier, VA.<\/span><\/p>\n

The MA One-Day Series will include 8 One-Day tournaments in the Middle Atlantic region, concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression<\/a> allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage\/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.<\/p>\n

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to \u201cget in to the swing of things\u201d playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The Middle Atlantic One-Day Series event \u00a0at The Hollows GC features a field of 30 players from the PKB Girls\u2019 Golf Tour, the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour.<\/p>\n

Featured in the 15 player Prep Series are Tatum Walsh (Midlothian, VA 2021), Vynie Chen (Centreville, VA 2020) and Katie Park (Fairfax, VA 2022). Tatum is currently ranked 1st on the Prep MA Order of Merit and has 2 wins this season at the Middle Atlantic One-Day Series at Shenandoah Valley Golf Course and the\u00a0Middle Atlantic One-Day Series at Augustine Golf Club. Vynie is currently ranked 4th on the Prep MA Order of Merit. She finished 4th in the Middle Atlantic One-Day Series at Shenandoah Valley GC. Katie is currently ranked T2nd in the Prep MA Order of Merit and was the champion at the\u00a0Middle Atlantic One-Day Series at Crofton Country Club.<\/p>\n

Featured in the 6 \u00a0player Futures Series are Sydney Hackett (Ashburn, VA 2022), Akshitha Vemuru (Herndon, VA 2021) and Emily Wang (Mclean, VA 2024). Sydney is \u00a0currently ranked 12th on the Futures MA Order of Merit and finished 2nd at the NOVA Championship at Hidden Creek CC. Akshitha is currently ranked T13th in the Futures MA Order of Merit and placed T6th at the Middle Atlantic One-Day Series at Augustine GC. Emily is currently ranked 3rd on the Futures MA Order of Merit and finished 5th at the\u00a0Revo Girls Classic at University of Maryland GC.<\/p>\n

Featured in the 9 player Discovery Series are Cailyn Park (Fairfax, VA 2025), Madison Lehr (Mechanicsville, VA 2024) and Sarah Wang (Mclean, VA 2025). Cailyn is currently ranked 1st on the Discovery MA Order of Merit and was the champion of the Middle Atlantic One-Day Series at Crofton CC. Madison is currently ranked 3rd on the Discovery MA Order of Merit and was the champion of the Middle Atlantic One-Day Series at Shenandoah Valley GC.\u00a0Sarah is currently ranked 4th on the Discovery MA Order of Merit and finished T3rd at the Middle Atlantic One-Day Series at Crofton CC.<\/p>\n

Everyone looks to continue their success this weekend at the Middle Atlantic One-Day Series event at The Hollows GC! Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers in the Prep and Futures Series, and the top-3 finishers in the Discovery Series.\u00a0We look forward to a great event!<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
