Greensboro, NC (July 13, 2018) \u2014 <\/strong>The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour (PKBGT)<\/a> and Insurance Office of America will conduct a junior qualification event for the LPGA Symetra Tour\u2019s IOA Golf Classic, which is held September 28-30, 2018. The winner of the qualifier will be awarded a sponsor\u2019s exemption into the professional event.<\/p>\n

Insurance Office of America, the title sponsor of three LPGA Symetra Tour events in 2018, will help link generations of junior golfers by partnering with the PKB Girls Golf Tour, an LPGA Foundation-approved tour dedicated to creating on-course opportunities for junior girls through girls-only golf tournaments.<\/p>\n

45 junior girls from up and down the east coast will have a chance to earn the sponsor\u2019s exemption through a 36-hole qualifier hosted by the PKBGT on September 8-9, 2018 at Alaqua Country Club in Longwood, FL, the host site of the 2018 IOA Golf Classic.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very excited to expand our sponsorships into girls Junior golf with the PKB Girls Golf Tour to help develop the next generation of American LPGA golfers,\u201d said IOA Chairman John Ritenhour.<\/p>\n

The sponsor\u2019s exemption marks IOA\u2019s second involvement with the PKBGT this year. This spring, IOA was also the title sponsor of the PKBGT\u2019s most recent expansion into Florida, the Central Florida Regional Series. The series consisted of five one-day events aimed at bringing girls-only competitions to the developing junior golfer.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are extremely excited to have IOA on board with the PKBGT,\u201d said PKBGT Tour Director Mike Parker. \u201cAs a lead supporter of the women\u2019s game through their three title partnerships with LPGA Symetra Tour<\/a> events in 2018, \u00a0the PKBGT\u2019s new Developmental Series in Central Florida and now the sponsor\u2019s exemption, \u00a0IOA is paving the pathway for developmental women\u2019s golf.\u201d<\/p>\n

Players can pre-qualify for the September qualifier through several different ways:<\/p>\n

  1. Top 30 players on the PKBGT Performance Index<\/li>\n
  2. 2 Sponsor\u2019s Exemptions<\/li>\n
  3. Top finishers in select partner junior events<\/li>\n
  4. At- Large Participants (a pre-qualifier will be held to fill additional spots if necessary)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
