On Saturday, June 23rd, the\u00a0<\/span>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0in partnership with the <\/span>Middle Atlantic PGA<\/a> played the \u00a0<\/span>Middle Atlantic One-Day Series<\/a>\u00a0event at <\/span>Crofton Country Club<\/a>\u00a0in Crofton, MD.<\/span><\/p>\n

The MA One-Day Series will include 8 One-Day tournaments in the Middle Atlantic region, concluding with a two-day Series Finale at the end of the season. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression<\/a> allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage\/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.<\/p>\n

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to \u201cget in to the swing of things\u201d playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The Middle Atlantic One-Day Series event \u00a0at Crofton CC featured a field of 43 players from the PKB Girls\u2019 Golf Tour, the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour.<\/p>\n

The Champion of the Prep Division was Katie Park (Fairfax, VA 2022) with a score of 2-over par, 74. Finishing runner-up was Elizabeth Coffren (Owings, MD 2020), just 3 strokes behind, with a score of 77. Alice Zou (Potomac, MD 2022) finished in 3rd place with a score of 78. Finishing in 4th place with a score of 79 was Hannah Hankim (Potomac, MD 2021).<\/p>\n

There was a two-way tie for 1st place in the Futures Division. Yadav Upaasna (Rockville, MD 2022) won the sudden death playoff to be named the Champion. She finished the day with a score of 5-over par, 77. \u00a0Finishing runner-up was Paige Warren (Baltimore, MD 2021) also with a score of 77. Josephine Nguyen (Springfield, VA 2024) finished in 3rd place with a score of 78. Finishing in 4th place with a score of 79 was Audrey Yim (Great Falls, VA 2023).<\/p>\n

The Champion of the Discovery Division was Cailyn Park (Fairfax, VA 2025) with a score of even par, 36. Finishing runner-up was Makayla Grubb (Stafford, VA 2025) with a score of 43. There was a three-way tie for 3rd place. Sarah Wang (Mclean, VA 2025) won the scorecard playoff finishing in 3rd place with a score of 44.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to all of our winners at the MA One-Day Series event at Crofton CC! The MA One-Day Series is back in action Saturday, July 21 at The Hollows GC in Montpelier, VA. There is still time to register!<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
