On August 26, 2017 the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour will play the Middle Atlantic One-Day Series event at The Hollows GC (Cottage\/Lake Course).<\/a>\u00a0One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a\"\" great\u00a0place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. \u00a0The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. \u00a0The tournament features a field of 23 players and will include the Prep, Futures, and Discovery Series.<\/p>\n

Featured in the Prep Series is Paris Fieldings (Suffolk, VA 2023), Hannah Hankim (Potomac, MD 2021), and Jessica Rathbone (Montpelier, VA 2020). Paris is currently ranked 1st on the Prep Middle Atlantic Series Order of Merit and finished in 1st place at her last MA One-Day Series Event at Belmont Golf Course. Hannah is currently ranked 5th in the Prep Middle Atlantic Series Order of Merit and finished in 1st place at the MA One-Day Series at Hobbit’s Glen GC. Jessica is currently ranked 2nd in the Prep Middle Atlantic Series Order of Merit and was the 2016 Champion of the MA One-Day Series at The Hollows GC. They look to continue their success this weekend at the 2017 MA One-Day Series at The Hollows GC.<\/p>\n

Featured in the Futures Series are Alice Zou (Potomac, MD 2022), \u00a0D’yan Robinson (Richmond, VA 2022), and Katie Park (Fairfax, VA 2022). \u00a0Alice is currently ranked 4th on the Futures MA Series Order of Merit and finished in 1st place at her last MA One-Day Series event at University of Maryland. \u00a0D’yan is currently ranked T6 on the Futures MA Series Order of Merit and finished top-10 at her last three MA One-Day Series events. \u00a0Katie is currently ranked T24 on the Futures MA Series Order of Merit and finished 2nd place at the MA One-Day Series at Belmont GC. They look to continue their success this weekend at the MA One-Day Series at The Hollows GC.<\/p>\n

Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers in the Prep and Futures Divisions.<\/p>\n

The Discovery Series features a field of 7 players from Virginia. \u00a0They will play 9-holes for the title, and awards will be presented to the top-2 finishers in the series.<\/p>\n

The PKBGT has partnered with the Middle Atlantic PGA and will host events in Virginia and Maryland. \u00a0The series will feature three divisions: Prep, Futures, and Discovery. \u00a0On the day of each of the Middle Atlantic Series events, players are welcome to attend our “Introduction to Tournament Golf” workshops. \u00a0The workshops are designed to promote and increase participation among middle and high school age developmental female golfers. \u00a0Topics covered at the workshops will include learning to become comfortable playing competitive golf, learning basic rules of golf, and building confidence on the course.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
