{"id":8188,"date":"2017-08-15T13:29:33","date_gmt":"2017-08-15T13:29:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/?p=8188"},"modified":"2017-08-31T15:49:01","modified_gmt":"2017-08-31T15:49:01","slug":"17event55_preview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/17event55_preview\/","title":{"rendered":"Preview: SC One-Day Series @ Spring Valley CC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Saturday, August 19, 2017, the PKBGT will be playing the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/pkb.shotstat.com\/Tour\/TournamentDetail.aspx?TID=5492\">South Carolina One-Day Series Event\u00a0at\u00a0Spring Valley CC<\/a>\u00a0in Columbia, SC. <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/images\/courses\/springvalley.gif\" alt=\"\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"20\" vspace=\"20\" \/>\u00a0This is the final One-Day Series event before the <a href=\"http:\/\/pkb.shotstat.com\/Tour\/TournamentDetail.aspx?TID=5493\">Southeast Finale at Cobbs Glen CC<\/a>, August 26-27, 2017. The South Carolina One-Day tournaments\u00a0are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to &#8220;get in to the swing of things&#8221; playing tournament golf. The goal of \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/schedule.php?code=O&amp;TID=11\">S<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/schedule.php?code=O&amp;TID=11\">outh Carolina One-Day Series<\/a>\u00a0events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a\u00a0premium golf course.<\/p>\n<p>Featured in the Prep Series are Jordan Guyton (Columbia, SC 2019) and \u00a0Emily Song (Charlotte, NC 2019). Jordan is currently ranked T13 in the Prep Order of Merit &#8211; SE, and has two 1st place finishes in the SC One-Day Series Events. Song is currently ranked 16th in the Prep Order of Merit &#8211; SE, and tied for runner-up at the NC One-Day Series at Pine Island CC. Both players look to continue their success this weekend at Spring Valley CC.<\/p>\n<p>Featured in the Futures Series are Chloe Pittman (Davidson, NC 2020), Amber Capote (Waxhaw, NC 2020), and Cindy Song (Waxhaw, NC 2023). Pittman is currently ranked 35th in the Futures Order of Merit &#8211; NC and finished top-10 in her last one-day event at Mill Creek GC. Amber is currently ranked 6th in the Futures Order of Merit &#8211; SC and finished T2 in her last SC One-Day Series appearance at The Carolina CC. Song is currently ranked 18th in the Futures Order of Merit &#8211; SC and has finished in 1st place in her last two One-Day Series Events in North and South Carolina. They look to continue their success this weekend at Spring Valley CC.<\/p>\n<p>Awards will be presented to the top-4 finishers in the Prep and Futures Series. We look forward to a great event!<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tygf.org\">Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
