The goal of the One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.\u00a0The event featured a field of 29 players from the PKB Girls\u2019 Golf Tour, the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour.<\/p>\n<p>The Champion of the Prep Series by 2 shots was Grace Holcomb (Wilmington, NC 2021) after posting a score of 83 for the day. In a tie for second place with a score of 85 was Carson Jenkins (Raleigh, NC 2019) and Cameron Wood (Waxhaw, NC 2017). In Fourth place with a score of 87 was Evin Flinchum (Summerfield, NC 2018).<\/p>\n<p>The Champion of the Futures Series was Emily Mathews (Mebane, NC 2023) after firing a round of 80. Only 3 strokes behind, finishing in second was Kayla Dowell (Mebane, NC 2021) with a score of 83. Finishing in a tie for third place was Elizabeth Tart (Holly Springs, NC 2019) and Megan Morris (Cary, NC 2021) both with a score of 85.<\/p>\n<p>The Champion of the Discovery Series was Gracie Song(Monroe, NC 2026), with a nine hole score of 39. Discovery Series runner-up was Madison Dial (High Point, NC 2025), finishing the day at nine hole score of 48.<\/p>\n<p>We would also like to recognize that two of our Futures players, Elizabeth Tart (Holly Springs, NC 2019) and Chloe Pittman (Davidson, NC 2020)\u00a0\u00a0made an eagle on the 2nd hole Par 5 today. \u00a0Way to go ladies!<\/p>\n<p>Our next NC One-Day Series event is the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/pkb.shotstat.com\/Tour\/TournamentDetail.aspx?TID=5513\">NC One-Day Series Event @ Pinehurst #9<\/a> in Pinehurst, NC. There is still time to register!<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tygf.org\">Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
