{"id":7985,"date":"2017-06-06T19:54:07","date_gmt":"2017-06-06T19:54:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/?p=7985"},"modified":"2017-06-06T21:19:09","modified_gmt":"2017-06-06T21:19:09","slug":"17event31_recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/17event31_recap\/","title":{"rendered":"Recap: Twiford Wins Hampton Roads Classic @ Cahoon Plantation GC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The PKBGT returned to action on June 3-4 with the Hampton Roads Classic at Cahoon Plantation Golf Club. \u00a0Cahoon has served as one of the practice courses for the Old Dominion University women&#8217;s golf team. \u00a0It is also home to the Girls Golf site of Hampton Roads.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"border: 0px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/images\/courses\/cahoon.gif\" alt=\"Cahoon Plantation Golf Club\" width=\"100\" height=\"120\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Winning the Prep Series was Bailee Twiford (Coinjock, NC 2019) with rounds of 72-79-151. \u00a0In second place by three strokes was Carley Rudolf (Virginia Beach, VA 2019) with rounds of 76-78-154. \u00a0In third place was Paris Fieldings (Suffolk, VA 2023) with rounds of 80-81-161. \u00a0In fourth place with rounds of 78-86-164 was Grayson Warren (Washington, NC 2021). \u00a0In fifth place with rounds of 86-83-169 was Annabelle Jennings (Chesapeake, VA 2020).<\/p>\n<p>The PKBGT returns to action on June 9th with the NC One-Day Series event at Pinewood Country Club!<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tygf.org\">Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
