{"id":7983,"date":"2017-06-02T15:09:14","date_gmt":"2017-06-02T15:09:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/?p=7983"},"modified":"2017-06-02T15:09:14","modified_gmt":"2017-06-02T15:09:14","slug":"17event31_preview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/17event31_preview\/","title":{"rendered":"Preview: Hampton Roads Classic @ Cahoon Plantation Golf Club"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The PKBGT returns to action on Saturday &#8211; Sunday, June 3-4 with the Hampton Roads Classic at Cahoon Plantation Golf Club in Chesapeake, VA. \u00a0Cahoon has served as one of the practice courses for the Old Dominion University women&#8217;s golf team. \u00a0It is also home to the Girls Golf site of Hampton Roads.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"border: 0px none; margin: 5px;\" alt=\"Cahoon Plantation Golf Club\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/images\/courses\/cahoon.gif\" width=\"100\" height=\"120\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Featured in the Prep Series are Paris Fieldings (Suffolk, VA 2023) and Grayson Warren (Washington, NC 2021). Fieldings is ranked 4th overall in the Prep Series, Middle Atlantic Division. Both Fieldings and Warren recorded top ten finishes at the PKBGT Masters presented by Aunt Ruby&#8217;s Peanuts at Greenville Country Club back in late April. Fieldings recorded a 2nd place finish and Warren finished in 9th place. They look to continue their success this weekend at the Hampton Roads Classic at Cahoon Plantation GC.<\/p>\n<p>Awards will be presented to the top-5 finishers in the Prep Series.\u00a0 We look forward to a great event!<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tygf.org\">Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
