One-day tournaments are <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"border: 0px; margin: 3px;\" alt=\"University of Maryland GC\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/images\/courses\/augustine.gif\" width=\"100\" height=\"120\" border=\"0\" \/>designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to &#8220;get in to the swing of things&#8221; playing tournament golf. \u00a0The goal of One-Day Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. \u00a0The tournament features a field of 23 players and will include the Prep, Futures, and Discovery Series.<\/p>\n<p>Featured in the Prep Series is Jessica Rathbone (Montpelier, VA 2020). Jessica is currently ranked 7th on the Storie Apparel Order of Merit &#8211; MA. She also finished top 10 at the PKBGT Masters at Greenville Country Club.<\/p>\n<p>Featured in the Futures Series Sue Lee (Lorton, VA 2022) and Brooke Burnette (Suffolk, VA 2018). Lee is ranked 6th on the Storie Apparel Order of Merit &#8211; MA and was runner-up at the Maryland Classic last weekend. Burnette is ranked T12 on the Storie Apparel Order of Merit &#8211; MA and finished top 10 at the Carolina&#8217;s Classic last weekend at Carolina Trace CC. Both players look to continue their success this weekend at Augustine Golf Club.<\/p>\n<p>The Discovery Series features a field of two players from the Virginia area. \u00a0They will play 9-holes for the title and awards will be presented to the top-2 players in the Series.<\/p>\n<p>The PKBGT has partnered with the Middle Atlantic PGA and will host five one-day events in Virginia and Maryland. \u00a0The series will feature three divisions: Prep, Futures, and Discovery. \u00a0On the day of each of the Middle Atlantic Series events, players are welcome to attend our &#8220;Introduction to Tournament Golf&#8221; workshops. \u00a0The workshops are designed to promote and increase participation among middle and high school age developmental female golfers. \u00a0Topics covered at the workshops will include learning to become comfortable playing competitive golf, learning basic rules of golf, and building confidence on the course.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tygf.org\">Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
