To keep the tradition of having a Bell family member at the awards ceremony, her daughter Bonnie McGowan presented the awards.<\/p>\n<p>Winning the Bell Series today was Nicole Adam (Pinehurst, NC 2020) with a 36-hole total of 150.\u00a0 Her steady play during both rounds combined with her ability to make a lot of pars is what gave her the overall victory! \u00a0Nicole was also the 2015 PKB Junior Champion in the Futures Series. The runner-up in the Bell Series by one stroke was Callista Rice (Mars Hill, NC 2017) with a total of 151. \u00a0In third place with a 153 was Jodee Tindal (Rock Hill, SC 2017. In fourth place was Emily Dunlap (Greenville, SC 2019) with a two day total of 156. \u00a0In fifth place each with a total of 157 were Elizabeth Coffren (Owings, MD 2020), Sarah Funderburg (Wilmington, NC 2018), &amp; Hailey Joy (Reidsville, NC 2018).<\/p>\n<p>In the futures Series there was a playoff for first place between Alexia Siehl (Fort Mill, SC 2022)\u00a0 and Maria Atwood (Holly Springs, NC 2022).\u00a0 Both players shot a 160 total for the 36-hole event.\u00a0 The playoff was played between holes 18 and 1.\u00a0 Both girls tied the first playoff hole with a par, and then it came down to the uphill 383 yard par 5 first hole. \u00a0In the end Alexia Siehl came out on top with a great par putt from 10ft to win the playoff. In third place was Trinity Muthomi (Kernersville, NC 2022) making her PKBGT debut, shooting 82-80-162.\u00a0 In a tie for fourth place each with a score of 164 were Layla Meric (Wesley Chapel, NC 2021) and Kasey Owenby (Gastonia, NC 2019).<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to all of our top-five finishers!<\/p>\n<p>Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club, the host of the Peggy Kirk Bell Junior, was also host to the US Women\u2019s Open in 1996, 2001, and 2007.\u00a0 The strong history of women\u2019s golf at Pine Needles combined with a championship-level course make it the ideal location for the further development of the game and the unofficial home of the PKB Girls\u2019 Golf Tour.<\/p>\n<p>A big thank you goes out to the Bell and McGowan families and the Pine Needles staff for hosting yet another wonderful event for us!\u00a0 The PKBGT will return to action across the street from Pine Needles at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club on January 28-29 with the PKB Foundation Classic.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tygf.org\">Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
