{"id":7494,"date":"2016-11-02T19:35:47","date_gmt":"2016-11-02T19:35:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/?p=7494"},"modified":"2016-11-06T02:11:45","modified_gmt":"2016-11-06T02:11:45","slug":"16event61_preview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/16event61_preview\/","title":{"rendered":"Preview: Last Chance Qualifier @ Forest Oaks CC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pkb.shotstat.com\/TournamentScoring\/Scoreboard.aspx?TID=4049\">&#8212; Live Scoring &#8212;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, November 5, 2016 the PKBGT will play the Last Chance Invitational Qualifier at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, NC. \u00a0This course is known for\u00a0the PGA Tour\u00a0event that was held there for 30 years: the\u00a0Wyndham Championship, formerly known as the Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic, and the Greater Greensboro Open (GGO).\u00a0 This is also a preview event for the 2017 PKBGT season.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/images\/courses\/forestoaks.gif\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"20\" vspace=\"20\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Featured in the preview event this week are Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018), Kayla Smith (Burlington, NC 2019), and Hailey Freedman (Chapel Hill, NC 2018).\u00a0 Wotnosky is currently ranked in 5th on the Bell Series Order of Merit and had a win this year at the PGS Girls&#8217; Championship.\u00a0 Smith had two top-10 finishes this year and Freedman had a win this year at the 2GG Apparel Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Awards will be presented to the top-3 finishers and the top-5 finishers will earn an invitation to the 2016 PKBGT Invitational.\u00a0 The winner will also receive an invitation to the PKBGT Tournament of Champions.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tygf.org\">Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
