Jones, Topiwala Win SC Series Finale @ Cobb&#8217;s Glen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On August 27, 2016, the PKBGT played the South Carolina One-Day Series Finale at Cobb&#8217;s Glen Country Club.\u00a0\u00a0 The South Carolina One-Day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to &#8220;get in to the swing of things&#8221; playing tournament golf. The goal of \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/schedule.php?code=O&amp;TID=11\">S<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/schedule.php?code=O&amp;TID=11\">outh Carolina One-Day Series<\/a>\u00a0events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a\u00a0premium golf course.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"border: 0px; margin: 5px;\" alt=\"Cobbs Glen Country Club\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/images\/courses\/cobbsglen.gif\" width=\"100\" height=\"120\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Winning the Prep Series was Grace Jones (Hayesville, NC \u00a02020) with a round of 78. \u00a0In second place with a score of 80 was Madison Branum (Lexington, SC 2018). \u00a0In third place was Emma Reid (Flat Rock, NC 2018) with an 86. \u00a0In fourth place with a round of 89 was Elena Jacoby (Huntersville, NC 2019). \u00a0In fifth place was Karson Kimsey (Sautee, GA 2017) with a 91.<\/p>\n<p>Winning the Futures Series after a one-hole playoff was Kelley Topiwala (Matthews, NC 2020) with an 84. \u00a0In second place also with an 84 was Claire Owens (Charlotte, NC 2019). \u00a0In third through fifth place matching cards with rounds of 85 were Telie McCoy, (Early Branch, SC 2019) Amber Amaker (Inman, SC 2019) and Harper Gilreath (Anderson, SC 2017).<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tygf.org\">Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
