{"id":7075,"date":"2016-05-01T23:44:07","date_gmt":"2016-05-01T23:44:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/?p=7075"},"modified":"2016-05-01T23:48:37","modified_gmt":"2016-05-01T23:48:37","slug":"16event14_recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/16event14_recap\/","title":{"rendered":"Recap: Cahill wins Metrolina Classic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pkb.shotstat.com\/TournamentScoring\/Scoreboard.aspx?TID=3928\">&#8212; Live Scoring &#8212;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday-Sunday, April 30th-May 1st, the PKBGT will play the Metrolina Classic at Rock Hill Country Club in Rock Hill, SC. \u00a0The course is home to the Winthrop University women&#8217;s golf team. \u00a0The filed features 58 players from six different states in the Bell and Futures Series.\u00a0 Congratulations to Kasey Owenby (Gastonia, NC 2019) for her hole-in-one on the 155 yard par 3 sixth hole!\u00a0 <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/images\/courses\/rockhill.gif\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"20\" vspace=\"20\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Due to unfavorable weather conditions, the second round of both series was canceled and the Bell Series was cut to an 18 hole tournament. \u00a0The Futures Series tournament was unable to be completed due to course closure.<\/p>\n<p>Winning the Bell Series was Caroline Cahill (Wilmington, NC 2017) with a round of 72. \u00a0The runner-up was Haeley Wotnosky \u00a0(Wake Forest, NC 2018) with a 74. \u00a0In third place was Madison Isaacson \u00a0(Greensboro, NC 2018) with a 76. \u00a0In a tie for 4th place with a 77 were Michelle Harn (Charlotte, NC 2019) and Jodee Tindal (Rock Hill, SC 2017).<\/p>\n<p>The PKBGT returns to action next week for the Pennsylvania Classic at Heritage Hills Resort in York, PA!<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tygf.org\">Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
