On Saturday-Sunday, April 2-3 the \u00a0PKBGT\u00a0will host the Boar’s Head Inn Classic at the Birdwood Golf Course at UVA. \u00a0Birdwood, home to the\u00a0University of Virginia<\/a>\u00a0women’s golf team, is an classic course with tricky, undulating greens and a wonderful host for this two-day tournament. \u00a0The tournament features a field of 58 players from nine different states.<\/p>\n

Leading the Bell Series are Riley Smyth (Cary, NC2018) with an opening round 74. \u00a0Close behind by three strokes are Lauren Freyvogel (Gibsonia, PA 2019) and Caroline Curtis (Richmond, VA 2019) at 77.<\/p>\n

Leading the Futures Series in a three-way tie for first are Jessica Thornton (Virginia Beach, VA 2017), Grace Huffman (Lexington, VA 2018) and Elizabeth Coffren (Owings, MD 2020) each with an opening round 82. \u00a0We look forward to an exciting finish in each series!<\/p>\n

Awards will be presented to the top-five finishers in both series at the completion of play on Sunday, April 3rd.\u00a0 We look forward to another great PKBGT event and welcome all of our new players and PKB families!<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
