{"id":6992,"date":"2016-04-02T00:01:50","date_gmt":"2016-04-02T00:01:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/?p=6992"},"modified":"2016-04-08T16:07:11","modified_gmt":"2016-04-08T16:07:11","slug":"16event9_recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/16event9_recap\/","title":{"rendered":"Recap: Petersen, Lyerly Win Carolina&#8217;s Jr. Mixed Team Challenge @ MacGregor Downs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pkb.shotstat.com\/TournamentScoring\/Scoreboard.aspx?TID=3923\">&#8212; Live Scoring &#8212;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The PKBGT is excited to pair up with the Tarheel Golf Foundation for the Mixed Team Challenge at MacGregor Downs Country Club! \u00a0This is the first year that the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls&#8217; Golf Tour has hosted a mixed team event in conjunction with the Tarheel Golf Foundation. \u00a0The team of Nick Lyerly and Natalie Petersen were the inaugural winners of the event, shooting a best ball total of four-under 68. \u00a0The second and third place teams where one shot off the lead at 69. \u00a0Those teams were made up of Olivia John and Tripp Summerlin and Riley Hamilton and Austin Tate. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.macgregordowns.org\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"border: 0px;\" alt=\"MacGregor Downs CC\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/images\/courses\/macgregordowns.gif\" width=\"100\" height=\"120\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Macgregor Downs CC was founded in 1967 and played host to the 1973 PGA Match Play Championship and the first Collegiate Amateur Championship. \u00a0In 2005 the course was named \u00a0among the top-50 courses in North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to all the players that participated in helping to make PKBGT and TGF history!<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a>\u00a0is an initiative of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tygf.org\">Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
