One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to &#8220;get in to the swing of things&#8221; playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event featured a field 50 players from the PKB Girls\u2019 Golf Tour, the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 425 members in 2014 and over 350 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the Prep Series, Madison Isaacson (Greensboro, 2018), Hailey Joy (Reidsville, NC 2018), and Muskan Uppal Cornelius, NC 2019) all shot six over par, each with scores of 77. There was a record-setting nine-hole sudden-death playoff where Joy made a beautiful birdie to win.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the Futures Series, Emilee Wenmoth (Clemmons, NC 2017) shot two over par with a score of 73 to place first. Caroline Crumrine (Wilmington, NC 2020) shot three over par with a score of 74 to place second and Brianna Plummer (Shelby, NC 2016) shot five over par with a score of 76 to place third.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">PKBGT returns to action on Monday, July 27 with the <a href=\"http:\/\/pkb.shotstat.com\/Tour\/TournamentDetail.aspx?TID=2588\">One-Day Open Series at Chapel Hill Country Club<\/a> in Chapel Hill, NC. The event brings together players North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> is an initiative of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tygf.org\">Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
