On Sunday, May 4, the 2014 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> concluded the Pennsylvania Classic<\/a> at Heritage Hills Resort. Heritage Hills, home of the host of the state’s Interscholastic Athletic Association state championship for over 10 years and host to many prestigious junior tournament, is a great course for this two-day tournament. The event featured a field of 24 players from the PKB Girls\u2019 Golf Tour, the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Bell Division, Rachel Lee (Woodstock, MD 2014) shot seven over par with a score of 79 to placed first with a two-day total of 154. Joey Mae Walz (Pittsburgh, PA 2015) shot eight over par with a score of 80 to placed second with a two-day total of 161 and Kennedy Bodfield (St. Catharines, ONT 2014) shot 11 over par with a score of 83 to placed third with a two-day total of 185.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Futures Division, Josephine Jung (Ellicott City, MD 2016) shot 12 over par with a score of 84 to placed first with a two-day total of 166. Bailey Davis (White Plains, MD 2020) shot five over par with a score of 77 to placed second with a two-day total of 169 and Alissa Thompson (Parkton, MD 2015) shot 17 over par with a score of 89 to placed third with a two-day total of 172.<\/span><\/p>\n

With their victory’s, Lee and Jung both received class A exemptions into the Tournament of Champions<\/a> this fall. With their runner-up finishes, Walz and Davis both received class C exemptions into the Tournament of Champions.<\/span><\/p>\n

PKBGT returns to action next weekend on Saturday-Sunday, May 10-11 with the Carolina’s Classic @ Carolina Trace Country Club (Lake Course)<\/a> in Sanford, NC. The course is the site of the 2014 North Carolina qualifier for the US Women’s Open. The event brings together players from event brings together players from Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
