Keith Hills, home to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gocamels.com\/sports\/wgolf\/index\/\">Campbell University<\/a> men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s golf teams, was an ideal venue for inaugural event. The championship was 18-holes of team and individual stroke play. There were 62 girls at the event, including 14 different high school teams and a handful of individuals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/gowarty_blog.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"left\" hspace=\"20\" vspace=\"20\" \/>In individual stoke play, Savannah Gowarty (Raleigh, NC 2015) of Sanderson High School and Leigha Holt (Holly Springs, NC 2014) of Holly Spring High School both shot two over par with scores of 74.  There was a two-hole sudden-death playoff which Gowarty proved triumphant to capture the medalist title.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/ardrey_kell_hs_blog_sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"20\" vspace=\"20\" \/>In the team stroke play, Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte, NC carded 249 to capture the team title.  The Ardrey Kell High School squad was represented by Moon Cheong (Charlotte, NC 2017), Megan Cullip (Charlotte, NC 2015), Alexis Whitney (Charlotte, NC 2016), and Sarah Zimmerle (Charlotte, NC 2017), who, in addition to being a championship high school team, are all standout PKB Tour players!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Click the button below to see the tournament recap, including pictures and the scoreboard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pkbgt.org\/inc\/results_cghsc.pdf\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"View Event Photos\" src=\"http:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/button_blog_scoreboard.jpg\" alt=\"View Event Photos\" width=\"205\" height=\"253\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> is an initiative of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tygf.org\">Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 330 members in 2012, 137 alumni in the collegiate ranks and 29 National Letter of Intent signees for fall 2013.
