Forest Oaks, former home of the PGA Tour Greater Greensboro Open, is a distinguished course for the fourth major championship of the 2013 season. The field was quite strong with 15 event champions from the 2013 season, 8 of the top 600 players ranked nationally by Junior Golf Scoreboard in the Bell Division, 12 of the top 25 players on the 2013 PKBGT Order of Merit lists in the Futures Division, and defending 2012 PKBGT PRECISION GOLF SCHOOL JR GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIPS Bell Division champion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sarah Spicer (Bahama, NC 2016) is golden!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the Bell Division, Spicer carded two under par with a score 70 to place a first with 73 + 70 = 143. Lucia Polo (Greensboro, NC 2013) carded even par with a score of 72 to place second with 72 + 72 = 144. Gina Kim (Chapel Hill, NC 2018) and Amanda Hollandsworth (Floyd, VA 2014) tied for third with scores of 146.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the Futures Division, Samantha Vodry (Mooresville, NC 2016) carded even par with a score of 72 to place first with 79 + 72 = 151. Sirena Walsh (Chantilly, VA 2016) carded two over par with a score of 74 to place second with 81 + 74 = 155. Kathryn Carson (Mooresville, NC 2017) and Kit McHutchinson (Durham, NC 2015) tied for third with scores of 157.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">With their top-three finishes, Spicer, Polo, Kim, Hollandsworth, Vodry, Walsh, Carson, and McHutchinson all received exemptions into the sixth major tournament of the season, the Tournament of Champions, which is being held at <a href=\"http:\/\/pkb.shotstat.com\/Tour\/TournamentDetail.aspx?TID=1013\">Moss Creek Country Club (North Course)<\/a> in Hilton Head Island, SC in September.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">PKBGT returns to action next week on Monday, June 24 with the <a href=\"http:\/\/pkb.shotstat.com\/Tour\/TournamentDetail.aspx?TID=982\">One-Day Open Series @ Stoney Creek Golf Club<\/a> in Stoney Creek, NC. The tournament brings together players from North Carolina and Virginia. It should be a great tournament.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> is an initiative of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tygf.org\">Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour with over 330 members in 2012, 137 alumni in the collegiate ranks and 29 National Letter of Intent signees for fall 2013.
