{"id":284,"date":"2009-05-06T17:14:21","date_gmt":"2009-05-06T23:14:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/precisiongolfschool.com\/blog\/?p=284"},"modified":"2012-11-05T16:39:55","modified_gmt":"2012-11-05T16:39:55","slug":"katherine-perry-claims-vicki-disantis-girls-junior-champ-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/katherine-perry-claims-vicki-disantis-girls-junior-champ-title\/","title":{"rendered":"Katherine Perry claims Vicki DiSantis Girls&#8217; Junior Champ. title"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tyga.org\/\">tyga.org<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination: none; mso-layout-grid-align: none;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Charlotte<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">, NC\u2014<span class=\"GramE\">With<\/span> winds blowing 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carolinasgolf.org\/tourn\/2009\/result\/kperrywvd.jpg\">Katherine Perry of Cary, NC<\/a> battled through the wind shooting a final round 73 to win the 4<sup>th<\/sup> annual Vicki DiSantis Junior Girls\u2019 Championship hosted by Pine Island CC in Charlotte, NC.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>Perry, a high school junior at Athens Drive HS in Raleigh, NC, was part of a group of players who did not finish their first round on Saturday because of storms in the Charlotte area.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>That group came back out at 7:30 am on Sunday and finished round 1 before starting their final round Sunday afternoon.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>Perry finished the tournament at 5 over par 147, good enough for a one shot margin over Allison Emrey of Charlotte, NC who finished at six over par 148.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>Emrey had a final round 72, the best round of the tournament in the gusty wind.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>Tied for third place at 151 were McKenzie Talbert of North Augusta, SC and Kayla Sciupider of Etowah, NC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination: none; mso-layout-grid-align: none;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">This annual junior championship is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association in honor of Vicki DiSantis for her dedication and work supporting junior girls\u2019 golf in the Carolinas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>See the Results here &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carolinasgolf.org\/tourn\/2009\/home\/vickidisantis.htm\">http:\/\/www.carolinasgolf.org\/tourn\/2009\/home\/vickidisantis.htm<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">We are so excited to see Peggy Kirk Bell Tour players taking 4 of the top 5 spots and 3 Precision Golf Students\u00a0 in the Top 10 in this elite championship including Champion Katheine Perry!!!\u00a0 Congrats to all tthe girls for some\u00a0great golf and finishes!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From tyga.org: Charlotte, NC\u2014With winds blowing 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, Katherine Perry of Cary, NC battled through the wind shooting a final round 73 to win the 4th annual Vicki DiSantis Junior Girls\u2019 Championship hosted by Pine Island CC in Charlotte, NC.
