Greensboro, N.C. (Jan. 3, 2026) \u2014 <\/strong>The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> takes on Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club from January 17-19, 2026, for the ninth annual Linville Cup Team Challenge and Leadership Retreat.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The Linville Cup is a weekend of team golf and leadership seminars designed to reward the top players of the 2025 PKBGT in each region. The retreat builds on our motto of \u201cmore than a golf tournament\u201d by bringing together members who have excelled in the past year to Pinehurst, the home of American golf, and Pine Needles\/Mid Pines GC, the home of our tour namesake.<\/p>\n

Mentorship is a major component of the Linville Cup, with multiple opportunities for players to interact with the coaches and staff. We hope that players will take away many life lessons, a stronger sense of confidence, and friendships to build their golfing careers.<\/p>\n

Our coaches are ex-collegiate golfers as well as women business leaders who will share their experiences with the girls. The event provides a unique experience for players to stray away from tournament golf’s individual mentality and compete and develop in a team environment.<\/p>\n

About the Mentor Coaches<\/span><\/h2>\n
Team NATIONAL<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nSue Bower<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Sue played collegiate golf at Dartmouth College from 1981-85 and majored in Psychology. While there, she earned an Honorable Mention All-American in 1985 (first-ever female Ivy League golfer named to an All American team). Post college, she played on the LPGA Futures Tour (now Symetra) from 1985-1988, finishing 18th on the money list in 1987. From 1992-2006 she served as the Head Women’s Golf Coach at Tulane University (New Orleans, La.), and then served on the Tulane University Athletic Department executive team from 2006-2016 after the women’s golf program was disbanded following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in the Gulf Coast. Most recently, she has served as the Director of Athletics at Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C., and has been a PGA Class A Member since 1992.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nRiley Quartermain<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Riley Quartermain is a PKBGT alumna from Bryn Mawr, Penn., who graduated from the University of North Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature, earning three-time ACC Academic Honor Roll honors. During her time at UNC, she played all four years on the Women’s Golf Team, interned in the NIL department, and served as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Riley also won the 2024 Women’s Golf Association of Philadelphia’s Amateur event. Riley is currently pursuing her master’s degree in English with a concentration in teaching at UVA and plans to apply to law school next year, combining her passion for education with her future legal aspirations.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Team North Carolina East\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nLeslie Cloots<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Leslie is a PGA Class A member and a seasoned professional tour player. Her journey at the University of North Carolina began as a promising recruit from Antwerp, Belgium. She represented the Tar Heels on the UNC Women\u2019s Golf Team from 2013 to 2017, leading the team in scoring averages for three consecutive years, while completing her undergraduate studies at the Kenan-Flagler Business School. Cloots is a player and competitor at her core, playing professionally from 2017 through 2023 on the LPGA Epson Tour and Ladies European Tour. Her focus is now on coaching, but you can still find her playing professionally at select events in the U.S. and Europe. Leslie also received the Carolina’s PGA Section Peggy Kirk Bell Women’s Player of the Year Award this year!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nKayla Thompson<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Kayla Thompson, originally from Whiteville, North Carolina, attended the University of North Carolina – Wilmington where she played golf for the Seahawks all four years. During her time at UNCW, she was awarded the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award each year and earned WGCA All-American Scholar honors her freshman year. Kayla graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, and then pursued a career on the Epson Tour from 2019-2024. She currently works as a realtor while continuing to pursue her lifelong dream of playing professional golf. She is a returning Linville Cup coach, bringing her competitive experience and commitment to excellence to mentor the next generation of young golfers.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Team SOUTHEAST<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nLizzie Hattrich<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Lizzie Hattrich is the Director of Athletic Communications at USA Baseball in Raleigh, N.C., where she is in her fourth year of overseeing the athletics communications team for the national governing body of baseball in the United States. After spending eight years as a Sports Information Director at N.C. State University for several different sports, she now manages the publicity of Team USA players and their identification process for national teams. At USA Baseball, growing the game and fostering a love for the sport at a young age is a priority, and Lizzie is excited to translate her professional experience to the Linville Cup.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nBarbara Hoard<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Barbara Hoard, a native of in Boca Raton, Fla., is the Marketing Director of Brand and Events for Jov\u0113 Wellness, bringing over 20 years of experience in marketing, branding, creative direction, project management, and event production. She has volunteered and captained teams for leadership programs while taking leadership classes that have equipped her to support others in living the life they envision. Barbara is passionate about self-development and believes the best way to help young women is by generously sharing her time, talents, and knowledge to empower the next generation.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Team South Carolina<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nTorey Chandler<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Torey Chandler is a 2014 graduate of Charleston Southern University, where she was a member of the golf team and served as team captain during the 2013-2014 season. Since May 2016, she has worked as a Tournament Administrator for the Carolinas Golf Association, handling pre-tournament administration for all junior championships, Ladies Four-Ball Play Days, and TYGA (Tarheel Youth Golf Association) events. Her extensive experience in the golf industry includes a P.J. Boatwright internship with the Greater Cincinnati Golf Association, volunteering with the Dorchester Dragons Special Olympics golf program and Swing Thought Tour, and working in golf shops at River Falls Plantation and Black Bear Golf Course. Torey brings her passion for junior golf and tournament operations to her role as a Linville Cup mentor.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Kristi Coggins<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Kristi Coggins is a retired collegiate golf coach with a distinguished 24-year career, including tenures at TCU (1984-1994) and the University of South Carolina (1994-2008), where she was inducted into the USC Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019. She coached Team USA alongside Robert Linville to victory over Japan in 2003 in Temecula, CA, and currently mentors young golfers with a passion for developing the next generation. Kristi believes golf is a gift to be cherished and is committed to living every day to its fullest while passing on the kindness and blessings she has received throughout her remarkable career.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Team Mid-Atlantic<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nMegan Burnham<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Megan Burnham is the Business Administration Manager at GolfForever, where she oversees operational, financial, and administrative functions. A Gastonia, N.C., native and PKBGT Alumna, she attended UNC-Wilmington and played golf for the Seahawks all four years, earning a Top-10 finish at the CAA Women’s Golf Championship during her junior year. Megan graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Criminology. She brings her competitive athletic background and strong organizational skills to her role supporting the GolfForever team.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nSarah Sontowski<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Sarah Sontowski is the Curriculum Program Coordinator at First Tee – Sandhills, where she has served in various roles since 2017. A Methodist University alumna and Nationally Trained Level 4 Coach and Chapter Trainer within the First Tee network, she built her foundation in youth development through internships at junior golf academies nationwide during her time as a PGM student. Sarah’s professional background reflects a deep commitment to youth development, character education, and fostering young people’s growth, both on and off the golf course.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Team North Carolina West\u00a0 <\/i><\/b>(DefendING CHAMPIONS)<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nCharlene Johnson<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Charlene Johnson is a Wake Forest University graduate who retired after 36 years in commercial banking with Wachovia and First Tennessee banks. She volunteers as a rules official for the Carolinas Golf Association and served the USGA as Leaderboards committee chair for the 2019 US Senior Women’s Open and the 2022 US Women’s Open in Pinehurst. Charlene has been a coach since the inaugural Linville Cup, bringing her extensive banking experience and deep knowledge of golf rules to mentor the next generation of young golfers. Her advice to aspiring golfers is simple yet powerful: be authentic and transparent, and be true to who you are.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nKatie Flaskerud<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Katie Flaskerud is currently the Business Intelligence Director for Consumer & Small Business Banking at Truist, where she leads analytics initiatives to drive business performance and decision-making. A 3-time PKBGT Champion and East Carolina University alumna, Katie played collegiately for the Pirates from 2011-2015 and was selected as the 2015 Dinah Shore Trophy recipient by the LPGA Foundation. She continues to compete in amateur golf, having qualified for 8 USGA Championships, and has been a Linville Cup coach since the inaugural event, helping lead her team to the championship match six times.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Event Namesake <\/b><\/p>\n

The Linville Cup is named for PKBGT Tour Founder Robert Linville. Robert is the owner\/founder of Robert Linville\u2019s Precision Golf School and co-founder of the PKBGT\u2019s parent foundation, the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, now known as Girls Golf of America. A PGA member for over 30 years, Robert has a passion for developing players and has taught some of the top players to come out of North Carolina in the last 20 years, including current LPGA player and PKBGT Alumna Katherine Perry. Robert\u2019s passion and energy for developing equity for girls in golf are why the PKBGT has grown to where it is today.<\/p>\n

About the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour<\/b><\/p>\n

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour is an initiative of Girls Golf of America, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally-ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
