Greensboro, NC<\/strong>–The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> takes on Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club from January 18-20, 2025, for the eighth annual Linville Cup Team Challenge and Leadership Retreat.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The Linville Cup is a weekend of team golf and leadership seminars designed to reward the top players of the 2024 PKBGT in each region. The retreat builds on our motto of \u201cmore than a golf tournament\u201d by bringing together members who have excelled in the past year to Pinehurst, the home of American golf, and Pine Needles\/Mid Pines GC, the home of our tour namesake.<\/p>\n

Mentorship is a major component of the Linville Cup, with multiple opportunities for players to interact with the coaches and staff. We hope that players will take away many life lessons, a stronger sense of confidence, and friendships to build their golfing careers.<\/p>\n

Our coaches are ex-collegiate golfers as well as women business leaders who will share their experiences with the girls. The event provides a unique experience for players to stray away from tournament golf’s individual mentality and compete and develop in a team environment.<\/p>\n

About the Mentor Coaches<\/span><\/h2>\n
Team Southeast<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nSue Bower<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Sue Played collegiate golf at Dartmouth College from 1981-85 and majored in Psychology. While there she earned a Honorable Mention All-American in 1985 (first-ever female Ivy League golfer named to an All American team). Post college, she played on the LPGA Futures Tour (now Symetra) from 1985-1988, finishing 18th on the money list in 1987. From 1992-2006 she served as the Head Women’s Golf Coach at Tulane University (New Orleans, LA) and then served on Tulane University Athletic Department executive team from 2006-2016 after the women’s golf program was disbanded following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in the Gulf Coast. Most recently she has served as the Director of Athletics at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC and has been a PGA Class A Member since 1992.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nKharynton Beggs<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Kharynton, a proud PKBGT Alumni, grew up in Charleston, SC where she was a proud member of The First Tee for 12 years. She received her Undergraduate degree in Psychology from Oglethorpe University. While at Oglethorpe, Kharynton played on the Women’s Golf Team all four years and even helped lead the Petrels to winning Women’s Team of the Year in her senior year. She is currently in a pre-doctoral research program to help prepare her for a PhD in Organizational Behavior. She is excited to be a mentor coach to Team Southeast and can’t wait to meet everyone!<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Team North Carolina East (DefendING CHAMPIONS)<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nJessica Spicer<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Jessica grew up in Bahama, North Carolina, and was an avid participant on the Peggy Kirk Bell Tour for many years before going on to play collegiately at Virginia Tech, where she got to take part in the team’s first-ever victory, as well as the program’s first NCAA regional and national championship appearances. Jessica is now pursuing a certification as a holistic health practitioner while working as an Administrative Assistant for the Integrative Metabolic Wellness Academy, a program that trains nurses to become holistic practitioners. She still enjoys playing golf as often as possible and loves to compete in four-ball tournaments with her twin sister, Sarah.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nVicki DiSantis<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

A native of Pinehurst, North Carolina. Vicki is a trailblazer for Women and Junior Girls Golf in the Carolinas. As a former CGA Executive Committee member, a member of the NCWGA Board from 1992-2001, Former Women’s Carolinas Junior Girls Director, and Former NC Women’s Golf Association President, you can say Vicki has touched the lives of many Junior Girls Golfers in the Carolinas. In 2023, she was awarded the CGA Charles E. Lynch Jr. Distinguished Service Award for her long-time commitment to golf in the Carolinas. As a retired 6th Grade Teacher, Vicki now is a volunteer Rules Official where you may see her at some PKBGT and CGA events.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Team NATIONAL<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nJackie Rogowicz<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Originally from Yardley, PA, Jackie started competing in National and Regional Junior Golf Tournaments at the age of 10. Jackie attended Penn State where she competed on the Women’s Golf Team all four years and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. Now she works as an Investment Analyst for Penn Mutual Asset Management. Golf is still a big part of Jackie’s life and has had great success in her during and post-college career including having qualified for 13 USGA Championships. She loves competing and hopes to coach Team National to their first win!<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nLeila Mackie<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

A native of Gastonia, North Carolina, Leila is a graduate of Clemson University in the Professional Golf Management program. A Class A Professional in the PGA, Leila served as the PGA Reach Director for the Philadelphia PGA Section and is currently a Career Services Recruiting Specialist with the PGA of America and a Board Member with Women Golfers Give Back.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Team South Carolina<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n\n\n\n\n
\"Torey<\/td>\nTorey Chandler<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Laura grew up in Charlotte, NC, and is a 2013 graduate of Furman University. During her time at Furman, Wearn has 12 top-10 finishes. As an Amateur, Laura won the 2010 Carolina’s Women Open as well as the 2011 Women’s Eastern Open. She graduated from Furman with a degree in business administration and is now playing professionally on the LPGA and Epson tours.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nMegan Burnham<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Originally from Gastonia, NC, Megan attended UNC-Wilmington where she played golf for the Seahawks all four years. During her time at UNCW, Megan had a Top-10 finish at the CAA Women’s Golf Championship in her Junior Year. Megan graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Criminology and currently works for GOLFFOREVER as the Executive Administrator.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Team Mid-Atlantic<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nParker Perry<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Originally from Bethesda, MD, Parker attended Grinnell College where she played golf for the Pioneers all four years. She is a first-year master’s candidate studying Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Perry believes that one of the best gifts that golf has given her is the opportunity to build and maintain friendships that will last a lifetime. As a PKBGT Alumni and previous Linville Cup Team member, she is excited to coach Team Middle Atlantic!<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nSarah Spicer<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Sarah grew up in North Carolina and was first introduced to the game of golf by her dad at the age of 7. She, alongside her twin sister, Jessica, quickly fell in love with the game and soon became a regular on the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour before playing collegiately at Virginia Tech. Sarah now works as a Data Analyst but still loves the game and enjoys playing or being involved as often as possible.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Team North Carolina West\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nCharlene Johnson<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

A graduate of Wake Forest University, Charlene retired after 36 years in commercial banking with Wachovia and First Tennessee banks. Charlene volunteers for the Carolinas Golf Association as a rules official, and she served the USGA as Leaderboards committee chair for the 2019 US Senior Women\u2019s Open and the 2022 US Women\u2019s Open in Pinehurst..<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nMadi Srinivasa<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/i>\n

Madi began playing golf at the age of 13 on the Peggy Kirk Bell Golf Tour, before continuing her athletic journey at Belmont Abbey, where she competed on the college golf team. Now a senior at Belmont Abbey, Madi is set to graduate with a major in Sport Management and a minor in Finance. After discovering her passion for teaching golf at the Dona Lerner Golf Academy, Madi plans to pursue her LPGA certification post-graduation and continue her career in teaching the game.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Event Namesake <\/b><\/p>\n

The Linville Cup is named for PKBGT Tour Founder Robert Linville. Robert is the owner\/founder of Robert Linville\u2019s Precision Golf School and co-founder of the PKBGT\u2019s parent foundation, the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, now known as Girls Golf of America. A PGA member for over 30 years, Robert has a passion for developing players and has taught some of the top players to come out of North Carolina in the last 20 years, including current LPGA player and PKBGT Alumnus Katherine Perry. Robert\u2019s passion and energy for developing equity for girls in golf are why the PKBGT has grown to where it is today.<\/p>\n

About the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour<\/b><\/p>\n

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour is an initiative of Girls Golf of America, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally-ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
