Pinehurst, NC<\/b>–<\/strong> The <\/i>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> headed to Pinehurst, NC \u00a0for the opening round\u00a0of the PKB Foundation Classic at the Mid South Club<\/i>.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Bell National<\/h2>\n

Sophie Lauture<\/strong>\u00a0(Charlotte, NC 2024) played her last thirteen holes in 2-under on Saturday. This got her back to even for the tournament and gave her a one shot lead entering the final round. Julia Herzberg<\/strong>\u00a0(Aberdeen, NC 2026) caught fire right out of the gate, birdieing three of her first four holes. She made one more birdie over the course of her round and would finish 1-over par for the day. Lila Becker<\/strong> (Woodstock, MD 2025) played her back-nine in 1-under par and is sitting in third place, two behind Lauture. Also in striking distance is Heather Appelson<\/strong>\u00a0(Wake Forest, NC 2025). Appelson made four birdies on Saturday and is looking to make a move.<\/p>\n

Right on her heels is Kelsey Sciacca<\/strong>\u00a0(Charlotte, NC 2026) who made two birdies as well and is just one behind. Alexandra Kennedy<\/strong> (Arden, NC 2026) is also in striking distance, just three behind the leader. Kennedy made two birdies in her round of 81 (+9). Kailey Lane<\/strong>\u00a0(Harriman, TN 2024) is sitting in fourth place and is five behind.<\/p>\n

The low round of the day in the Futures National division belonged to Aayra Iqbal<\/strong>\u00a0<\/b>(Charlotte, NC 2027). Iqbal made two birdies on the day and has a two shot lead. Natalia Henderson\u00a0<\/b>(Southern Pines, NC 2029) is the closest to Iqbal after her opening 82 (+10). Lina Polteraitis\u00a0<\/b>(Florence, SC 2026) made three birdies in her round of 84 (+2) and is looking to catch Iqbal on Sunday. Olivia Cho\u00a0<\/strong>(Ashburn, VA 2028), Audrey Liu\u00a0<\/strong>(Weddington, NC 2027), and Hailey Moffett\u00a0<\/strong>(Watkinsville, GA 2026) are all tied for fourth and five behind Iqbal.<\/p>\n
