Two Regionals and a National<\/h2>\r\n

Delaware Valley Series WGAP Girls at Penn Oaks Country Club<\/b><\/h3>\r\n

Prep Series<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

We have two co-medalists from this event!\u00a0Aphrodite Deng<\/strong> (Short Hills, NJ 2028) and Evelyn Wong<\/strong> (Macungie, PA 2022) both finished the event with two day scores of 78, 76 = 154 (+10). Each girl made one eagle and three birdies over the two rounds!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Futures Series<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

Silvana Gonzalez<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/b>(Exton, PA 2023)<\/span> accepted the challenge of placing first at the Delaware Valley Series WGAP Girls at Penn Oaks Country Club<\/span>. She took home the hardware with a two-day score of 80, 84 = 164 (+20)<\/span>. This was Gonzalez’s first time taking first at a PKB event!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Discovery Series<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

Ryland Portadin<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/b>(Colts Neck, NJ 2029) took home the champion hardware with a two-day score of 35, 38 = 73 (+1) at the Delaware Valley Series WGAP Girls at Penn Oaks Country Club. She held first through both rounds. Over the two rounds, she made five birdies and an eagle!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Georgia Series at Bobby Jones Golf Course<\/b><\/h3>\r\n

Prep Series<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

Emma Veil<\/strong> (Duluth, GA 2025) took first with a score of 78 (+6) at the Georgia Series at Bobby Jones Golf Course. Since she one by one stroke, her birdie on hole five helped to secure her win. As her second tournament ever with PKB, this was Veil’s<\/span> first time taking first!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Futures Series<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

Hailey Jung <\/strong><\/span>(Johns Creek, GA 2029) took home the champion hardware with a score of 76 (+4) at the Georgia Series at Bobby Jones Golf Course. Jung made first with four birdies on her scorecard, helping her win by two strokes. With this as her third tournament with PKB, this was Jung’s first time taking first place!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Discovery Series<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

Returning to Bobby Jones Golf Course as a champion, Koiki Miyagi<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/b>(Johns Creek, GA 2030)\u00a0 took home the champion hardware with a score of 35 (-1). By being the only one to finish under par, she has kept her record of taking first at the Georgia Series at Bobby Jones Golf Course. This win was guaranteed by the three pars she made throughout her round.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

HJ Glove Girls Championship at the Links at Perry Cabin<\/b><\/h3>\r\n

Bell National<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

Macy Johnson<\/strong>\u00a0<\/b>(Salem, VA 2023) took home the championship hardware at the HJ Glove Girls Championship\u00a0with a two-day score of 76, 70 = 146 (+2). Johnson maintained first through both rounds.<\/span> She also scored a total of nine birdies on her way to victory!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Futures National<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

Savannah Laverty<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/b>(Moorestown, NJ 2027) took first with a two-day score of 76, 74 = 150 (+6) at the HJ Glove Girls Championship. Laverty climbed from second after the first round to taking first in the end! This is her third time taking first in a row, so it’s clear to see that she’s on a roll!<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Upcoming Events<\/h2>\r\n

We have two regional series taking place this Saturday, July 9. The first event is South Carolina Series at Smithfield Country Club, with tee times beginning at 1:00 P.M. The second event is the Middle Atlantic Series at Crofton Country Club, where tee times will start at 1:30 P.M. The Carolinas Junior Girls PGA Championship at Raintree CC (North) will occur this Monday, July 11, and Tuesday, July 12. Tee times for both days will begin at 7:30 A.M.<\/p>\r\n

About the PKBGT<\/h2>\r\n

Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls\u2019 golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player\u2019s pace.
