Waynesboro, VA-\u00a0<\/b>The\u00a0Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> traveled to a new stop on the PKBGT National schedule for the inaugural Kandi Comer Girls Classic presented by River City Collective at Orchard Creek Golf\u00a0 Club in Waynesboro, VA. Orchard Creek Golf Club, set below the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains, is home to one of the most respected teaching professionals on the East Coast. River City Collective and the PKBGT are proud to name this special event in honor of Kandi Comer, PGA.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Bell National<\/h2>\n

A member of Team Middle Atlantic from the 2021 Linville Cup takes the day one lead at the Kandi Comer Girls Classic. Avery McCrery<\/strong> (Wilmington, DE 2025) was the lone competitor in either division to shoot under par at Orchard Creek Golf Course. McCrery went on a tear-making birdie on her final four holes to shoot an opening-round 71 (-1). The senior Sydney Kuo<\/strong> (Edison, NJ 2021) stands in second place after a round of 72 (E). Joining McCrery and Kuo in the final pairing is Grace Addison<\/strong> (Abingdon, VA 2023) at (+2).<\/p>\n

Futures National<\/h2>\n

A local takes the lead in the Futures National division at Orchard Creek Golf Course. Addison Ritter<\/strong> (Crozet, VA 2025) fired an opening-round 74 (+2) to lead by one over Jennifer Osborne<\/strong> (Ashburn, VA 2024). Addison carded three birdies on the day. Joining Ritter and Osborne in the final pairing will be Addie Doroh<\/strong> (Charlottesville, VA 2025), who is fresh off a top-five finish at the PKBGT Masters.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.\u00a0 The tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace.
