Harve de Grace, MD-<\/strong> The\u00a0Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> continued the Spring Championship schedule at the Mid-Atlantic Girls Championship. The Mid-Atlantic Girls Championship, in partnership with the Middle Atlantic PGA Section and the Maryland State Golf Association, headed back to Bulle Rock Golf Club in Harve De Grace, Maryland. Home of the LPGA Championship from 2005-2009, this year\u2019s field included participants from twelve states, including the Lone Star State, Rhode Island, and Florida.<\/i><\/p>\n

Bell National<\/h2>\n

The highest-ranked player on the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour Performance Index takes the overnight lead at the Mid-Atlantic Girls Championship. Maria Atwood<\/strong> (Holly Springs, NC 2022) feels right at home in the Mid-Atlantic, firing a round of 70 (-2) to take a one-shot lead heading into the final round. Atwood, a James Madison University commit, was one of four players to reach the top of the leaderboard. Atwood carded five birdies on the former LPGA Championship track. Joining Atwood in the final pairing are two rising stars from the DMV, Olivia Cong<\/strong> (Germantown, MD 2024) and Alina Ho<\/strong> (Great Falls, VA 2024) at (-1).<\/p>\n

Vincenza “Vinny” Papa<\/strong> (Foster, RI 2026) sits alone atop the Futures National leaderboard after an impressive 68 (-4) to begin the 2021 Mid-Atlantic Girls Championship. Papa, who had success in this event last summer, is looking to win back-to-back PKBGT National Series events tomorrow against a stacked field. Papa captured the Commonwealth Classic just three weeks back. Vinny’s five birdie round puts her one ahead of Vidhi Lakhawala<\/strong> (Kendall Park, NJ 2026) at (-3). Jennifer Osborne<\/strong> (Ashburn, VA 2024) sits in third at even-par and Raquel Walker<\/strong> (Burke, VA 2026) in 4th.<\/p>\n
