Lillington, NC-<\/strong> The\u00a0Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> travels to the land of the Camels next weekend for the annual Campbell Classic at Keith Hills Golf Club in Lillington, NC. One of our most popular events in the Tarheel State boasts a full field once again for the 2021 season. Keith Hills, the host of three collegiate conference championships, is the home of the Campbell Women\u2019s Golf Team and the PGA Golf Management program. Soft greens provided excellent scoring opportunities for the Prep and Futures Fields on day one.<\/i><\/p>\n

Prep Preview<\/h2>\n

A native of the Great White North takes the Prep division’s overnight lead at the Campbell Girls Classic. Anne-Lea Lavoie <\/strong>(Quebec, Canada 2023) was scheduled to compete on the PKB Girls’ Tour last season three times before COVID-19 ultimately shutdown the schedule for just over a month and a half. Lavoie made the most out of her tour debut, opening the Campbell Classic at Keith Hills Golf Club with a round of 75 (+3). Lavoie went out in 35 (-1) with eight pars and a lone birdie on the par-five sixth. Coming in, the Canadian lost a bit of her momentum after a birdie on her tenth hole, bogeying five of the last eight holes to shoot 40, enough for a one-shot lead over Tour vet Kanchana Duangsam (Haymarket, VA 2026). Joining Lavoie and Duangsam in the final group will be Sophia Sarrazin<\/strong> (Westport, CT 2023) at (+5).<\/p>\n

Futures National<\/h2>\n

Two big hitters from the class of 2027 take the overnight lead at the Campbell Girls Classic at Keith Hills Golf Club. Jenna Kim<\/strong> (Raleigh, NC 2027) took home her maiden event at the Cutter Creek Girls Classic as the only player to go under par in either division just a couple of months ago. She and Drive, Chip, and Putt national finalist Ashnoor Kaur<\/strong> (Roanoke, VA 2027) fired rounds of 75 (+3) on the sodden Orange and Black course in Buis Creek. Kaur hit the shot of the day on the par-four ninth hole when she holed out for eagle to go out in 38 (+2). Ashnoor tabbed two birdies on her back-nine as well. For Kim, back-to-back bogeys on seventeen and eighteen put her tied with the clubhouse leader in Kaur. Jenna tabbed her only two birds on the front side. Joining Kim and Kaur in the 2020 PKBGT Regional Tournament of Champions Futures National medalist Ella June Hannant<\/strong> (Pikeville, NC 2027) at (+5).<\/p>\n
