Supply, NC-<\/strong>The\u00a0<\/i>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> concluded play on the North Carolinian Coast at the Cape Fear Classic at Lockwood Folly Golf Club. Lockwood Folley, located alongside the Intra-Coastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, hosted the PKB Girls\u2019 Tour for the first time. Six states were represented between the two fields.<\/i><\/p>\n

A PKB Girls\u2019 Tour first occurred over the weekend at the Cape Fear Classic at Lockwood Folly Country Club.\u00a0Madison Messimer<\/strong>\u00a0(Myrtle Beach, SC 2025), winner of five Futures National events in the past six months, and a Prep victory at the 2020 PKBGT National Tournament of Champions needed a Bell National title to win the cycle. Well, it didn\u2019t take long. Messimer picked up her first Bell National win in her second start at the Cape Fear Classic shooting rounds of 74 (+2) and 78 (+6). Madison carded five birdies over the two rounds including three in round one. Making her second start on the PKB Girls\u2019 Tour,\u00a0Bridget Wilkie<\/strong>\u00a0(Bluffton, SC 2024) jumped the board to finish runner up thanks to a final round 76 (+4). The reigning Bell National Order of Merit champion,\u00a0Sydney Hackett<\/strong>\u00a0(Ashburn, VA 2022), finished third after a scorecard playoff.<\/p>\n

Futures National<\/b><\/p>\n

It was a family affair in the Futures National Division at the Cape Fear Classic at Lockwood Folly Country Club.\u00a0Ella June Hannant<\/strong>\u00a0(Pikeville, NC 2027) held the lead after her opening round 79 (+7) for much of round one. Finishing near the end of the large field was Ella\u2019s older sister Karysn.\u00a0Karsyn Roberts<\/strong>\u00a0(Pikeville, NC 2024) overthrew Ella June and\u00a0Sanaa Carter<\/strong>\u00a0(Jacksonville, NC 2025) as the overnight leader thanks to her round one score of 73 (+1). Roberts closed round one with a birdie; she expanded her lead to over seven shots after her front nine score of 36 (E) on Sunday. Once Roberts hit the tenth tee, she couldn\u2019t miss coming home in 34 (-2), including back-to-back birdies to cap off her first PKB National Series win. Ella June finished with the silver fifteen shots off her older sister at (+14) for the tournament.\u00a0Ellie Burnette\u00a0<\/strong>(Wrightsville Beach, NC 2023) jumped two places to finish third.<\/p>\n

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour travels back to the Palmetto State for the Orange Whip Girls Classic at the Walker Course at Clemson.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.\u00a0 The Tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the Tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace.
