Southern Pines, NC-<\/strong>\u00a0The\u00a0Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> traveled back to the home of our namesake and the host of four US Women\u2019s Opens for the Peggy Kirk Bell Junior Girls. Due to a large application pool, a second site has been added to host a secondary Futures National field. The PKB Junior II will be contested at Southern Pines Golf Club, a Pine Needles Donald Ross property. Frost delayed the start at Southern Pines Golf Club for the PKB Jr II event.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Bell National<\/h2>\n

Morgan Ketchum <\/b>(Winston-Salem, NC 2022), a six-year veteran of the PKBGT, has just one victory to her name, the Vicki DiSantis PKBGT qualifier. That could all change by tomorrow if Ketchum can continue her great play from the opening round of the Peggy Kirk Bell Junior at Pine Needles. The Winston-Salem native carded four birdies en route going out in 37 and home in 35 to open with a round of 72 (E).\u00a0 Creeping two off of Ketchum is the 2020 PKBGT Tournament of Champions medalist Sydney Yermish<\/strong> (Wynnewood, PA 2023). Three shots off the lead are four players including Sophie Lauture<\/strong> (Charlotte, NC 2024), the current fifth-ranked player on the PKBGT Order of Merit rankings.<\/p>\n

Prep Preview<\/h2>\n

Emerson Dever<\/strong> (Durham, NC 2025), no stranger to overnight leads heads into tomorrow at Pine Needles, the host site of the 2022 US Women’s Open with a round of 78 (+6). Emerson carded two birdies on her round which started on the ninth hole. Dever’s last hoisted up a trophy at the Rocket Tour Girls Championship and the Tarheel Classic in 2020. Samantha Skinner<\/strong> (Blacksburg, VA 2023) found herself another good score at Ms. Bell’s place and sits one shot off the Durham, NC native. Kate Dann<\/strong> (Charlotte, NC 2023) and Macy Johnson<\/strong> (Salem, VA 2023) are tied at the bronze position at (+8).<\/p>\n

Kanchana Duangsam (Haymarket, VA 2026) <\/b>continued where she left off in the Middle Atlantic Regional Series taking the overnight lead in the Futures National division of the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Junior at Pine Needles. The highlight of the day came from the Futures National leader when she holed out for eagle on the ninth hole. Kanchana also birdied three other holes on her opening nine. Duangsam added her fourth blue square on the twelfth hole en route to a (+3) round of 75. Annalee Caveney<\/strong> (Raleigh, NC 2024) sits in second at (+5).<\/p>\n

After a brief frost delay, two sit atop the leaderboard at Southern Pines Golf Club. Alexa Prettyman<\/strong> (Plain City, OH 2025) and Emily Rosenchein<\/strong> (Concord, NC 2024) hold a three-shot lead after their rounds of 83 (+12).\u00a0 Alexa and Emily both carded two birdies on the day. Joining Prettyman and Rosenchein in the final pairing is Alexandra Kennedy<\/strong> (Arden, NC 2026) at 86 (+15) after her opening round.<\/p>\n
