Williamsburg, VA<\/b>–<\/strong> The\u00a0Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> heads north for the final time this fall for the annual PKBGT Regional Invitational in Williamsburg, VA, at Ford\u2019s Colony Country Club. The Marsh Hawk course at Ford\u2019s Colony is the oldest of the three-course routings on property opened in 1985. Known for its traditional tree-lined fairways, undulated greens, and natural lakes, the Marsh Hawk should be an exceptional test for the best of our six regional series. Fifty-seven representing seven states will play. Only two will be crowned champions.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Prep Preview<\/h2>\n

On Halloween day, The Marsh Hawk course drew its teeth after taking a beating from Hurricane Zeta. With chilly temperatures and a soggy golf course, the thirty-three player field got their fair share of winter golf practice to begin round one of the PKBGT Prep Invitational at Marsh Hawk Country Club. Mary Grace Dunigan<\/strong> (Kennet Square, PA 2023) concluded the Delaware Valley Series with wins at Raven’s Claw and the WGAP Rita Cooper Cup at Bala Golf Club. The Kennet Square, PA native, picked up right where she left off to kick-off her 2021 PKBGT campaign. Mary Grace takes a one-stroke lead over Garland Gould<\/strong> (Raleigh, NC 2024) and fellow Delaware Valley participant Kayla Maletto<\/strong> (Sinking Springs, PA 2024).<\/p>\n

Dunigan carded one birdie on the day at the par-five sixth hole going out in 36 (E) and coming home in 39 (+3) for a round of 75 (+3). Dunigan is searching for her first-ever National Series PKBGT title. The same can be said about Maletto. Garland Gould claimed gold at the Wolfpack Classic last season in the Futures National division. It should be a fight to the finish between these three tomorrow on the links!<\/p>\n

Futures National<\/h2>\n

The competitor with one of the longest drive to Williamsburg takes the overnight lead in the Futures National division after an opening-round of 79 (+7). Avery Smith<\/strong> (Ladson, SC 2025) went out in 39 (+3) and home in 40 (+4) en route to a five-shot lead over the field. The Ladson, SC native carded two birdies on her round. Smith is competing in just her second season on the PKB Girls Tour searching for that elusive first win. Her last time out was at the South Carolina Series Finale at the Country Club of South Carolina, where she finished seventh. Playing with Smith in the final grouping is Taylor Perry<\/strong> (Summerville, SC 2022) and Rachel Joyce<\/strong> (Quakertown, PA 2026).<\/p>\n
