Peachtree City, GA-<\/strong> The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour concluded round one of the Peach Tree Girls Classic at Braelinn Golf Club in Peachtree City, Georgia. A rather brisk and overcast day began play early this morning. However, the chilly scoring conditions did not affect the quality of play for the predominantly local field in the Peach State. Three rounds finished in the red, and both the leaders in the Bell National and Futures National are from the state of Georgia.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Bell National<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two class of 2021 players sit atop the leaderboard with Katie Scheck<\/strong> (Greensboro, GA 2021) and Erika Scutt<\/strong> (Johns Creek, GA 2021), who both fired a smooth round of 71 (-1) to open play this morning. Scheck, a Penn State Women’s Golf verbal commit, carded three birdies on the day. The Johns Creek, GA native, followed with four on the day, including three on her inward nine. Allie Kantor <\/strong>(Milton, GA 2021) sits just one stroke behind the two leaders at even-par.<\/p>\n

Futures National<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once again, the low round of the day came from our Futures National field thanks to a fantastic opening round of 70 (-2) from Kate Parviainen<\/strong> (Augusta, GA 2022). Parviainen carded five birdies in just her second event as a member of the PKBGT. Parviainen played only two weekends ago in the Grand Strand at the Coastal Carolina Classic, where she picked up a T5. The Augusta, GA native holds a five-stroke overnight lead over Olivia Pellerin<\/strong> (Greenville, SC 2024), who sits at (+3) for the event.<\/p>\n
