Salisbury, NC<\/strong>–<\/span>On Saturday, May 23 the <\/span>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour<\/a> ended their 76-day hiatus from tournament play due to the Coronavirus-19 pandemic when the trio of Victoria Cook<\/strong> (Reidsville, NC 2020), Anna Howerton<\/strong> (Winston-Salem, NC 2023), and Megan Morris<\/strong> (Cary, NC 2021) struck their opening tee balls at high-noon on the Donald Ross Classic Design at Country Club of Salisbury. Due to flooding, holes 11-14 were unplayable today. The course was rerouted for the competitors to replay holes 1-4 with hole #3 being played as a par-4.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bell National<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Leading the Bell National field is Nicole Adam\u00a0<\/strong>(Pinehurst, NC 2020), after an opening round of 68 (-3). The 2019 Carolina’s Golf Association Junior Player of the Year carded six birdies in her opening round on the par 71 layout. Nicole’s last PKBGT tournament outing ended with a victory back in 2019 at the Peggy Kirk Bell Junior at Pine Needles Golf and Lodge on December 28-29. The UNC-Chapel Hill commit heads into the second round with a three-shot lead.<\/p>\n
