Johns Island, SC-<\/strong>On Saturday-Sunday, January 11-12, 2020 the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/a> welcomed 27 competitors to the Palmetto state at The Kiawah Resort Girls Classic at Oak Point.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Oak Point, the Clyde Johnston gem, was in prime scoring conditions for the 27 competitors. Windy conditions and natural wildlife welcomed the contestants on every hole on Saturday. Mother nature bore her teeth on Sunday morning, causing a one hour delay due to a weather cell crashing through the southern islands of South Carolina.<\/p>\n

Bell National<\/h2>\n

Finishing in first place in the Bell National Division was Grace Holcomb (Wilmington, NC 2021) after posting a two day total of 150 (73-77). Holcomb’s wire-to-wire title is her first PKB victory in 2020 and clinches her a spot in the 2020 PKB Tournament of Champions. The Wilmington native started and ended with an exclamation point birdie to capture the title on the Kiawah River.<\/p>\n

Futures National<\/h2>\n

A battle occurred between two phenomenal players in the Futures National division for the Kiawah Resorts Girls Classic. Gracie Song (Waxhaw, NC 2026) led after day one thanks to a flawless round of 70 (-2).<\/p>\n

Madison Messimer’s (Myrtle Beach, SC 2025) hot front nine in round two of 35 (-1) shrunk Song’s lead as the pair turned. The Grand Strand native then sunk a clutch birdie on the par-five twelfth to take the lead over Song and claim her first title of the calendar year. Messimer also automatically qualifies for the 2020 PKB Tournament of Champions with the victory!<\/p>\n
