On Sunday, October 27th, the <\/em>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour \u00a0<\/a><\/em>held the last chance Invitational Qualifier at Bermuda Run Country Club’s West course.<\/p>\n

Ten players brought fierce competition to earn the final two spots into the coveted PKBGT Invitational played at Bermuda Run’s east and west courses. The event, held November 9-11, 2019, features the highest ranked field on the PKBGT national circuit bringing in players from the east coast and beyond.<\/p>\n

The “last chance” qualifier, held on the host course for the Invitational’s first round, serves as the last opportunity for players to qualify for the coveted event. The top 2 finishers of the qualifier earned their way into the event. Let’s take a look and see who punched their tickets!<\/p>\n

Prep Division\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In the Prep Division at this weekend’s last Chance Qualifier, Elizabeth Beek<\/strong> (Blue Bell, PA 2023) claimed the 1st spot into the Invitational with a round of 73. Beek, who traveled from afar to earn her spot, carded birdies on the 7th and 9th holes to win the spot by six strokes.<\/p>\n

Finishing in a tie for second were Chloe Pittman <\/strong>(Davidson, NC 2020) and Gabriela Cruz<\/strong> (High Point, NC 2021) with scores of 79. With both two players in second place and only one spot into the Invitational, the two battled it out in a sudden-death playoff. Off of the first hole of Bermuda Run’s West course, Pittman came out on top, with an impressive up and down for a par. Gabriela Cruz finished in third place for the day.<\/p>\n

The two players who qualified will come back to Bermuda Run in two weeks to play in one of the tour’s championships. Pittman and Beek will be a part of the 72 player field in a chance to take home the most adorned title of the 2020 season : The 2019 PKBGT Invitational title!<\/p>\n

Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls\u2019 golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player\u2019s pace.
