On Saturday, September 7, the 2019 <\/span>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/span><\/a> played the Middle Atlantic Series at Greene Hills Country Club in Standardsville, VA.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

These PKBGT regional events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. <\/span>The PKBGT Series Progression<\/span><\/a> allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage\/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prep Division<\/b><\/h2>\n

Taking home her first PKBGT victory of the year, AnPhi Le<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/b>(Frederick, MD 2022) posted a 75 to secure the title by just two strokes. Le, who has now earned her spot in the 2019 Tournament of Champions and the 2019 Prep Invitational, had 14 pars and one birdie in route to her victory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finishing in a tie for second place, two strokes behind Le, were Melanie Walker<\/strong> (Burke, VA 2022) and Alice Zou<\/strong> (Potomac, MD 2022) and Vivian Hui<\/strong> (Charlottesville, VA 2023) with rounds of 77. Both Zou and Walker’s rounds were highlighted by 12 pars – with Walker making one birdie and Zou, two birdies. Hui led the field in pars after carding 15 during her round.<\/p>\n

Rounding out the top five with a round of 78 was Breanna Trombetta<\/strong> (Poquoson, VA 2021).<\/p>\n

Futures Division\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

In the Futures division, <\/span>Alina Ho <\/b>(Great Falls, VA 2024) defeated Makayla Grubb\u00a0<\/strong>(Stafford, VA 2025) in a two-hole sudden death playoff for the division title. Both competitors posted a solid round of 78 to force extra holes. Ho’s victory at Greene Hills, highlighted by 14 pars, secured her spot in the 2019 PKBGT Tournament of Champions and the 2019 Futures Invitational!<\/span><\/p>\n

After posting eight-over on the front nine, Grubb made an incredible run on the final nine of Greene Hills posting FOUR birdies on the back- nine, going three under par through her last six holes of the event.<\/p>\n

Just one stroke back in a tie for third place were Allison Douglas (Covington, VA 2021) and Addison Butler (Bristow, VA 2024) with a round of 79. Rounding out the top five of the Futures division in a tie for fifth place were Gabbie Hollberg<\/strong> (Moseley, VA 2022), Cailyn Park<\/strong> (Fairfax, VA 2025) and Medhnaa Saran<\/strong> (Vienna, VA 2022) with rounds of 80.<\/p>\n

Discovery Division<\/b><\/h2>\n

Taking home her fourth victory of the Middle Atlantic Regional Series, <\/span>Sydney Neou <\/b>(Leesburg, VA 2027) fired a round of one-over-par 36 to earn medalist honors at Greene Hills Country Club. Neou, who currently leads the Storie Apparel<\/a> Discovery Middle Atlantic Order of Merit, carded two birdies in route to a six shot victory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finishing in second place was Burke, VA native Raquel Walker\u00a0<\/strong>(Burke, VA 2026) who posted a round of 42. Carding four pars throughout her round, Walker stands strong ranking inside the top ten of the Discovery Middle Atlantic Order of Merit.<\/p>\n

Just two strokes behind Walker, finishing in solo third place, was Sydney Dinh<\/strong> (Leesburg, VA 2027) with a round of 44. In fourth place was Livi Quick<\/strong> (Spotsylvania, VA 2026) who posted a round of 45.<\/p>\n

The PKBGT Middle Atlantic Series is back in action next Saturday at the One-Day Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club<\/a>, followed by the culmination event of the 2019 Middle Atlantic Regional series, a 1.5X points multiplier, the SERIES FINALE at Fawn Lake Country Club<\/a>!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels but are a great place for development golfers to \u201cget into the swing of things\u201d playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.<\/span><\/p>\n
