{"id":10960,"date":"2019-08-11T12:26:29","date_gmt":"2019-08-11T12:26:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/?p=10960"},"modified":"2019-08-11T12:26:29","modified_gmt":"2019-08-11T12:26:29","slug":"19event73_recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/19event73_recap\/","title":{"rendered":"Recap: 2019 PKBGT Delaware Valley Series at Morgan Hill GC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Saturday, August 10, the 2019 <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> played the Delaware Valley Regional Series event at Morgan Hill Golf Course in Easton, PA.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These PKBGT regional events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/about_series.php\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PKBGT Series Progression<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage\/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The inaugural <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/schedule.php?TID=15\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PKBGT Delaware Valley Regional Series<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is presented by <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/womengolfersgiveback.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women\u2019s Golfers Give Back<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The 2019 season features five one-day events, concluding with a two-day series finale in September!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Prep Division<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Squeezing out the victory in Easton on Saturday, <\/span><b>Riley Quartermain <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Bryn Mawr, PA 2021) finished the afternoon with a score of 77 (+6). Quartermain kicked off her round with a birdie and added an eagle on the back nine!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In second place, <\/span><b>Kyleen McCance <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Hanover Township, PA 2022) finished one stroke behind Quartermain with a 78 (+7). McCance made one birdie in her round.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Futures Division\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Topping the Futures leaderboard, <\/span><b>Hayley Ekert <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Lansdale, PA 2023) finished the afternoon with a score of 90 (+19).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finishing runner-up with a score of 94 (+23) was <\/span><b>Chloe Barton <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Newton, NJ 2023). Barton made two birdies in her round including one on the first hole.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Lucy Barton <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Newton, NJ 2023) finished in third place after posting a score of 95 (+24).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Discovery Division<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Improving one spot from the last event and winning her first tournament of the season was <\/span><b>Alaina Carson <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Broomall, PA 2028). Carson kicked off the day with a birdie and finished with a score of 42 (+7).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In second place, <\/span><b>Alexandra Engart <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Harleysville, PA 2025) closed her afternoon with a score of 44 (+9). Rounding out the top finishers in the Discovery division was <\/span><b>Kyla Quimby <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(West Lawn, PA 2026) with a score of 57 (+22).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PKBGT Delaware Valley Series is back in action on September 7 at a course TBA.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>About the PKBGT Regional Series<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels but are a great place for development golfers to \u201cget into the swing of things\u201d playing tournament golf. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player\u2019s pace.
